This masterpiece made television history. 60 episodes of pure writing, directing, and acting excellence. If you haven't seen it, obviously a large commitment, but it is unforgettable. Described by Wendell Pierce as a "fictional documentary", it's immersion level and detail make for an experience that is only matched by Breaking Bad in my opinion. Police drama in West Baltimore that exposes the happenings in different areas of the city from the poverty stricken streets all the way to the docks and political parties. I cannot praise this series enough, so many characters, events, quotes, and so much more that I will never forget.

The Wire really is one of the best shows to have ever graced our TV screens. It's a compelling (and tragic) depiction of what so many American cities are dealing with these days. Once you start you just can't stop watching so it's a better value to buy the complete series rather than a single season.

The first season was so exciting that I was on the edge of my seat. Didn't want to stop. Next season was good but I would have liked to seen the same players. The last ones. Well I couldn't get through one season without skimming and last one I just gave up

The most influential show I have ever seen. Was totally worth buying the entire series instead of buying one season at a time because once you watch the first season you'll just keep wanting to go on. There are so many links between seasons that it is a perfect binge show.

Great price on one of the best shows ever made(people who don't like nudity, violence, or cursing don't buy). TV production at it's finest and high quality picture even on a large screen tv. Funny I had to change this review because I used a word beginning with S and had to replace it with nudity.

The wire is one of my favorite shows, I watched the show every week when it aired on HBO. Its been a long time since the show was on TV, so watch the series again refreshed my memory on thing I forgot about. Great show, must watch.

I had heard how great this show was for years and it pretty well lived up to the hype. It was incredibly eye-opening and provocative. It is very easy to binge watch and its fun to see a lot of its big name performers in a role that led them to superstardom.

One of the best series to ever grace the television landscape. Superb writing, great acting, compelling stories and a wonderful use of Baltimore as a character. I think I will add the blu-ray to my collection and gift my DVD set to someone that will enjoy it as much as I do.

Since the last season if the wire I was feening to get my hands on the DVD series so when I seen they had it on best buy and the price was great I had to get it.. So glad I did!!

This series was great while on television, I never missed an episode. It is so great that I bought it to be able to watch anytime I am in the mood. The characters are defined beautifully and the acting is excellent.

My son had seen an episode and wanted to catch the whole series.When I saw it come up with a great price I bought it for him as a Christmas gift.He is loving it.Everyday he watches a few episodes.

This series brings to life the issues faced in America today. It goes to show how government bureaucracy and manipulation can lead to further complication of existing problems in our country.

Script is so tight and on point, you feel like you're watching a documentary. Best TV drama ever. Great companion to "The Sopranos".
