I do not have a collection of watches; I buy a watch every decade or so. I choose carefully. I like Withings Activite because it tracks both activity and sleep. It also has a silent vibrating alarm that does not disturb my partner. The sapphire crystal is remarkably hard. Consequently, you can go about your day with normal bangs and scrapes to the watch face, and the watch does not care. Best part of a smart watch? I changed the battery for the first time two weeks ago after 8 months of daily use. Caveat: One not insignificant issue to consider: Even with a new battery, minute hand stopped at 04 minutes past the hour and would not budge; The hour and activity indicators worked well, but minute hand died--even with a new battery. Best Buy extended warranty came in handy. Based on past experience purchasing from Withings directly: Don't. Withings's customer service is blithely incompetent--or subversively greedy. Specifically, Withings ignored my requests for help with a return (Aura sleep system) and I had to involve my credit card company about the fraud, etc. Best solution: Purchase from Best Buy. BB will make you happy. (No, I do not own Best Buy stock outright..)

I bought it for my friend. Her son is a young basketball player. He likes this watch very much. I think the watch is a good gift for youth.

I didn't want an ugly digital watch for everyone to know I was tracking my activity. This watch is stylish and nobody knows it's an activity tracker, ta-da!
