The Withings Scan watch is like a big brother who cares.
The watch monitors your heart rate, BPM and can alert you if an arrhythmia event happens. You can run a medical grade ECG for issues on command. The watch also monitors your respiratory SPo2 levels with a simple 30 second test. When worn at night while sleeping it tracks and scores your sleep cycles and grades you. It would let you know if you had any breathing issues (aka Apnea) You can track each night and see a graph on the length of cycles like Deep and light sleep. I used this on Vacation when I was staying in 5 different hotels, all with different quality beds. As expected, I had more deep sleep cycles when the beds where more comfortable. Two hotels had very uncomfortable beds and I scored a low 70 but with the higher quality one, I was in the mid-80s. The watch is very comfortable to wear at night. So much so I forget I’m wearing it. I will say however the supplied band is kind of cheap just a simple black rubber one. But since it is designed to fit most watch bands. This is a very easy and cheap fix. When you set an alarm to wake up, the watch knows if you are in a deep or light sleep and it will gently vibrate to awaken you. The watch will choose a “best time” to wake you up based on your light or deep sleep condition and schedule
To set up you first need to Download the app. The app is user friendly and easy to navigate. In the app you will activate your choices for monitoring. I activated: Steps, Sleep, heart rate, Trends and Health insights which scans all your data and provides you with actionable tips to help you improves your heath based on your results. You can also activate: Pregnancy tracker, a leader board to challenge friends, and a meditation app to name a few.
The watch is waterproof to 50 meters or 150ft. The Health mate app auto recognizes when you start a workout and logs your activities. If you allow the app to connect to your location service, the app will log or map your run via GPS. It will also watch your heart rate as you do workout.
Battery life is Awesome, I fully charged the watch before I left town and was gone for 7 days. When I returned, I checked the battery life and I had only used 25%. This makes it nice having 1 less charger to pack.
Notifications can be hand picked for the watch. I usually do phone and text, but you can add numerous apps to notify like: email, Instagram, zoom, messenger, calendar to name a few. The only issues I had was with Notifications. It seemed like I was missing them, so I had to go start the app then I was getting them again. This happened on multiple occasions. I am sure there is a simple fix. But until then I will continue making sure the app is running in the background (Android 11, pixel 4) and the other thing, was your notifications are not saved or cannot be recalled on the watch. They are live as you get them, then they are gone and you will have to check your phone to retrieve them.
The first impression I had of the Glass was that it was going to give me issues and scratch easy but, it is sapphire glass, that is durable and scratch resistant.
The display is very bright and can be easily read in bright sun when you have a notification, the case is slim and seems very durable as well.
All in all, this is a great watch for anyone. Who loves health, this watch tracks most everything you need and can also be shared with healthcare professions by downloading results.
Note: This watch should not be a substitute for a doctor, just a helper with health.
I really like being able to see all my results in front of me to see if I made any gains, or what I can do to do a better job of staying healthy.

Fashionable compared to most smartwatches, easy to read digital interface for all applications outside of text messaging (just too small). You should get this product if you want a watch that is health-focused and does that very well. If you want a communication-focused watch that also happens to have health functionality included, look for an alternative. If you want a watch that does everything mediocre, look for an alternative. If you want health and style, buy now.

Beautiful, health-oriented smartwatch

First and foremost, this is a beautiful watch. It looks professional and high-end with a large watch face and stainless steel edges. It is very minimalist and sleek, and its black and white color design will match any outfit for any occasion. The watch features a largely analog design, with a small, blacked-out digital display for notification features. Despite its size, this screen is very clear and easy to navigate using the single dial on the side of the watch. The watch itself feels very weighty but not heavy. This particular model will fit medium to larger wrist sizes, and Withings has a smaller model for smaller wrists. It has a black silicon wristband, but it is easily replaceable for individual customization.
After getting over how nice this thing looks and feels, I start to appreciate the other top features Withings offers in its ScanWatch Smartwatch, specifically its health and fitness benefits. The ScanWatch utilizes your smartphone's notification features to get you information in real-time, and it saves it all on the free app that's a quick download away.
Amazingly, this watch was developed with cardiologists and clinically validated for tracking heart and breathing disturbances. It is your personal electrocardiogram, blood pressure monitor, and pulse oximeter. Lots of fancy functions, right? Basically, it will watch your health non-invasively. The ScanWatch will send health data to your connected mobile phone for you to track, save, and monitor, things like breathing patterns while you sleep, BPM data, and based on the information you provide in the app, more detailed and personal health information like weight loss data or blood pressure and BMI monitoring. It even records blood-oxygen levels and tracks heartbeat regulation at the touch of a button.
Just as impressive is its fitness-tracking features. The ScanWatch is able to track and provide your steps, distance, and elevation information. And like most smartwatches, you can easily track workouts like running, swimming, or cycling at the push of a button. It is water resistant up to 164 feet in depth, and best of all, it will last a long time without the need for a charge as it is advertised as up to 30 days of battery life. After initially charging it one time out of the box, we're sitting at 3/4 power a little over a week now with heavy daily use.
Overall, its stylish design and impressive medical and fitness features makes the ScanWatch Smartwatch a wonderful product. Whether as a gift for a loved one or a top-end accessory for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
Full disclosure, I received this product for my honest, unbiased review.

Great if You are Concerned About Your Heart-Health

Let me start by saying I love this watch and it's stylish approach to a hybrid smartwatch. It has an elegant design with a no-nonsense display. It features mechanical hands, with a small display. However, it feels like Withings just barely missed the mark here. Especially in a post-Corona Virus world, I am so surprised the watch didn't also include a temperature monitor for a watch so focused on health. It is a relatively cheap addition that could have added a lot more peace of mind.
It does have a great focus on heart-health, as it monitors your oxygen saturation level, as well as an electrocardiogram. It also has sleep monitoring, including watching for breathing disturbances.
The biggest shortcomings are the lack of NFC, especially for payments, on-board GPS, and music controls. These three elements are crucial for today's smartwatch.
If you are concerned about your heart-health, and that is your priority, this watch is for you. If you are looking for stylish, fully functioning smart watch, I would keep looking. It's high price and lack of standard features make it valuable only to a select few.

Even better than expected

From someone who has worn "smart" watches before I have to say the ScanWatch impressed beyond my expectations. I will start with the look and feel of the watch. Let me preface this with, I have watch collection that has 40+ watches ranging from relatively inexpensive to pricey. The fit and finish of this watch compares with the best of them. Solid build with a very classy and functional face. You can easily change out watchbands to suit your style and lifestyle. The face of the watch is easy to read from a traditional standpoint, and has a very clear digital display that lights up at the push of the crown. Once you press the crown, you can scroll through a number of functions including; Settings, a breathe app, an app to track your workouts which are also selectable, your O2 readings and your ECG. There are also the functions to keep track of your steps and distance all of which is done without you having to do a thing other than put the watch on. There is an app that you can install on your mobile device, mine was an iPhone, that will keep track of all your stuff so you can see what happens over time. Probably one of the most outstanding features of this watch is the battery life. My previous smart watch HAD to be charged every night. Granted I could make call on it (which I never did) but I was lucky if the battery lasted 24 hours. As of this writing, I'm about 16 days in and it still has 62% battery life. For the record, I have not worn another watch in that time! I am extremely happy with the feel, function and features of this watch. So much so that several family members will be getting one for Christmas.

This smartwatch has everything you need and looks like a formal high end watch doing it.
I have paired the watch with my iphone which syncs the time (including daylight savings) and health data with an easy to use app called Health Mate.
The app is very easy to use and has your Daily Steps, Sleep Score, Average Heart Rate, Breathing report, and ECG all on the home screen. You can conveniently share the results of the report via PDF from your phone.
The headline health features of Oxygen Saturation and ECG do require you to place your opposite hand over the watch face and be still for 30 seconds. The results are instant on the digital indicator on the watch and in the app. A report of oxygen % with low, below average, and normal scale is shown in the app and the ECG will give you your heart rate and a rhythm status video of the 30 seconds.
Along with all these features the battery is phenomenal. I haven't charged it for over 2.5 weeks and still have 20% battery life remaining. It does have a proprietary charger though so it will not charge on just any wireless charging pad.
Bottom line this is a great smartwach for those that want a formal looking watch with hands and all the health and wellness features.

The two letters at the end of my nickname should clue you in that I would get more excited than most over this type of product. So did I get more excited? Read on.
The first thing that catches your attention is how sharp (as in classy) this watch looks. Even in it's stock band it is quite stunning. You can of course swap it for another style if you must (but again, I don't see the need to).
The face of the watch is more of a hybrid. It marries a regular analog hour and minute hand with a digital circular display at the 12 O'Clock position that extends just about to the center of the watch in length and to the 11 and 1 O'clock position in width. So there is no ability, obviously to download new watch faces. Not a negative, again, in my opinion.
Setup was a breeze. Here I was thinking that I was going to have to use the dial on the side to set the time... Not so! Connected via bluetooth to a smartphone, it asks what time-zone you're in and the watch hands spring to life and mechanically move to their precise positions. You are also asked a few more questions such as your weight. Presto! Bam! Boom! You are setup. I think I should mention battery life at this point. After fully charging with the usual magnetic charger, it has been on my wrist since it was activated almost a week ago. Is my battery close to being dead? Nope! It's at (drumroll please!) 96%!!!!!!!!!!!! And that's with it doing it's measurements and other activities in the background, and me checking my vitals frequently. I think the battery life will blow the mind of anyone who purchases this watch. And to me, is a big selling point. My "luxury" full blown smart watch lasts half a day - in comparison.
It can check your pulse? Indeed - and it does so rather accurately too. From the top of your wrist! I'm nerding out! Sorry! Out of 20 test readings where the watch was compared to a manual pulse reading each time - 16 were what I would consider spot on (+1/-1). 4 had odd deviations from the 16 which I think may have had to do with movement. When you scroll to the pulse feature on the watch, it shows you your last recorded pulse, and then takes another. All these readings, by the way, are automatically and immediately sent to your phone via bluetooth to the companion app.
Before the next big feature is discussed we are going to talk apps! It comes with its own very capable app. But what if you are already a user of google fit? No problem! Readings from both apps are shared with each other. It does so seamlessly - and immediately, There are a few more apps that are compatible that you can use if you so desire, to help you achieve fitness nirvana.
Next up is its ability to obtain and record the level of oxygen in your blood (SpO2). This one was a little bit easier to test. The left arm has the watch, the right index finger has a stock hospital run-of-the-mill alligator clip that attaches to our monitors. Again, it was spot on (+1/-1). This surprised me the most. We were always taught the place to obtain this reading was the finger. And if need be, the earlobe. But the back of your wrist, and be accurate? That's insane! But VERY accurate.
My next nerding out moment occurred when I realized the ECG function was an actual ECG that can be exported to PDF in the phone-app and sent to your doctor via email/etc. This isn't your "get an ECG by putting your finger on a phones flash". Nope, this is an actual ECG with real wave-forms. So real, that it will notify you immediately if you go into A-fib. There wasn't a way for me to measure the accuracy of the wave-form without me getting into trouble by using our chest leads connected to our monitor. But, already having a pretty good memory of what my ECQ waveform looks like - I'd say it's very close.
Then there are a slew of fitness monitors. There is a stair-monitor, a step monitor, a duration and location monitor, and even a sleep monitor! And all this is done automatically in the background. Generating and sending the readings/results to your app(s) on your phone.
I think you are getting the picture now, perhaps, that this watch has a ton of awesome and useful (and potentially life-saving) features. To me, that's a good trade-off versus a full digital face battery gulper.
I would recommend this watch to anyone who is at any level of physical fitness.
I would also buy the next model if it would also have the ability to take your temperature and blood pressure. (hey, it could happen. I never thought I could get an accurate SpO2 from the top of an arm!!)
Go for it!

Beautiful watch, wanted to like it but failed to accurately keep time which is kinda important for a watch. In addition to struggling as a watch the glass began to fog up due to moisture under the glass just from hand washing at work (medical field). Forget water proof, that’s not even water resistant! Too bad, cool looking watch and great idea poorly executed.

I would have to say they’ve done well with their intriguing market presentation. ScanWatch comes in a brown box, with the device’s name on the top cover. On the sides, you see some discreet branding elements, and that’s it. On the bottom of the box, there is a sticker with the exact model, serial number, and other identification details for the smartwatch that you just bought. Gives it a bit a class, setting the stage for a pretty kewl device reveal.
After charging and familiarizing myself with the menu functions I strapped this baby on. This was my first opportunity to wear a full featured smartwatch and I have been hugely impressed. I know looks are opinion type things but IMO this is a genuinely nice stylish watch! The fact that it’s loaded with what could potentially be lifesaving apps and functions is a bonus. I know, I know you get this type of watch for the apps and functions. This watch delivers it with speed and accuracy. Do not forget it functions as a watch!
Every function is set using the watch stem and at first the amount of information may seem intimidating to absorb, but once or twice through the menu functions it all ‘rolls’ into place. One feature I found is a great help is when you enter the setup menu by pressing on the stem the minute and hour hand move away so as not to block the menu. And it functions as a watch, you can really tell time with it.
I tried to verify each of the functions for accuracy by comparing with other home medical and fitness devices. The only one that I could not compare with was the EKG function, but it indicated I was alive and breathing so I figured it as accurate to some degree. All other functions were almost identically accurate across the board; O2 was consistently spot on, steps, distances traveled were like other devices that I carried. What makes this a great device is that it’s all in one place. The only thing missing other than the proverbial kitchen sink is a blood pressure function. This is a swiss army knife on your wrist.

A smart watch with heart health monitoring

The Withings ScanWatch is my first smart watch. The smartwatches I have looked at previously have been activity trackers with cell phone pairing for additional functions. The Withings Scanwatch has activity tracking for a wide a range of activities from walking, running, bicycling, rowing and many other activities. Of particular interest to me is that the Withings ScanWatch is one of a small number of smart watches with heart health monitoring as a focus and with the sensors to support ECG and SPO2 monitoring.
I have had my ScanWatch for over two weeks now and have been impressed with the really solid design and construction with it’s polished stainless steel body sapphire glass screen and clean traditional hour and minute hand design. The claim of up to thirty day battery life does not appear unreasonable. After ten days of use my ScanWatch reported the battery at sixty four percent. I am planning to recharge the watch every two weeks in the future.
There are a small number of or smart watches that share some or all of the same functionality at greater or lower cost. The learning curve for ScanWatch and its software is steep and not easy. I eventually found the answers I needed in the Health Mate application or the online manuals and FAQs at Withings website but it does take some time and effort. I recommend the Withings ScanWatch with the Health Mate application to my friends. I am glad I have my ScanWatch.

So far I have been really happy with my Withings scanwatch. The build quality is sturdy and has a great weight to it. It definitely doesn't feel like a cheap plastic watch. The casing is beautiful stainless steel. So far the battery life is impressive. It is on par to last at least 3-4 weeks before I need to charge it again. While it doesn't have a huge smart screen like some other watches, it has all of the main features, including call and app notifications that scroll across. Plus, the smaller screen keeps battery life very reasonable. Sleep tracking and step counting has been accurate. The app is smooth and seems to work better than competitor apps I have used in the past. I also love that this watch has all of these high end features, but still has 50M water resistance, so it can be used in the shower or swimming, which not all other fitness/health related watches offer.

I’ve used smartwatches for the for more than 4 years now and I’ve had a couple different brands. This is the first one that I’ve used with aesthetics that are that of a high-end casual watch. Very comfortable to wear and display is well made.
As for the technical side of this great looking piece, I easily connected it to my iPhone. This watch shows notification that are easy to read in both day and night. The ScanWatch easily tracked my workout session, runs and counted my steps. With over 30 sports activities programmed in, you’re more than covered. One thing that impressed vastly me was that this smart watch can automatically detect your activity and log it in your health app for you. With the built in GPS it a great way to see a map of a run or bike ride. So, for activity tracking this is a powerhouse of a watch.
Some other features that are worth mentioning is that you can track your sleep and see how well or poorly you slept through the night, heart health and respiratory monitoring. The sleep feature tracks your duration and cycles and gives you a score that you can compare from night to night. At the end of your slumber you can be awaken by a smart wake-up feature. Utilizing heart health, you can see your hear beat and if its irregular the watch will let you know. If an irregular heart beat is detected you can easily run a ECG with this watch. The added medical-grade oximeter records blood oxygen levels! This is first for me.
I could go on and on about this watch. This is one of the best looking, most versatile and feature packed smart watch on the market at a very affordable price. For some looking for a smart watch that is stylish and goes well with many different styles of clothing, then the Withings ScanWatch is for you. This is an Amazing piece of gear.

I am a Apple watch fan, and have only worn that brand for years. The Withings is a hybrid watch- looks like a regular dial watch, but with a small round screen at the top. I have also been a fan of Skagen watches and hence my pull to this watch. The look is simple and classy, and it doesn't not look anything like a smart watch. The smart display is invisible most of the time. Touch the crown and a very smart watch display appears. It does everything I use on my Apple Watch, and the display is bright and clear for being so small. It does BPM, EKG and Oxygen levels, and amazings very smooth operation.
This is in addition to other health and activity features.
Pairing was easy to an iPhone 11, and the app is well thought out. Battery life is good with it being off the charger for 4 days without issue. The band is a rubber stretch type with sizing for most wrists. If you have a small wrist it will seem kinda bulky as it wraps around. The charger is a magnetic type but not wireless. It has three prongs which must be lined up to charge, and this I did find annoying. A few times I did not get it just right, and the watch did not charge. The watch is water resistant to 50m. Band is easily changed, and i've seen some nice options.
The best part of the watch and app was the sleep functions. Very helpful for me.
All in all, I like this watch very much. It has a simple design but definitely does just about everything I want in a smart watch.
