If you're looking for an online game thats not FPS and centered around the RPG /MMO Universe then give WoW a try, you'll like it.

WoW isn't nearly as good as some MMO games available. In my opinion, the only reason WoW was so successful is because of Blizzard's history in the PC game world. This game is infamous for consuming people's lives. At first, you may play it a few hours a day. But then it grows on you. I decided to quit after my grades in college began to crumble. After I quit I realized just how bad it was. I actually lost friends because they were to busy playing it to answer their phone or leave their computer. This game is fun in moderation, but I warn you most people who play it take it way too seriously and play 8-16 hours a day.

Game can be alot of fun, but there is a very juvenile atmosfere

You can't just think, im gonna try this game for a few days then quit, because once you start playing this game, you quit all the other games you play and get hooked onto this game for about a year or 2 at least. You start to think differently, and not want to go out and have fun, you will just want to sit home and play. So it's a good game for you if you like that sorta thing, sitting spending hundreds of hours just clicking and typing, but I would rather spend my time playing a real game. But in this game players sense a whole second life away from their real life. In real life you could be bob from new york, made fun of in school, but in wow you could be dfasdhfsdf from azeroth, level 70 and respected everywhere. But this causes their real life to get even worse.

Its #1 game out there for a reason. Excellent content. Graphics are great and gameplay is smooth and flowing.

This game is one of the best online games ever made.

May be entertaining for a few days, but it has many flaws. The purpose of the game is to level your character to max level, which takes months of repetitive questing and grinding. Then once your max level, the game determines how good you are by what armor and weapons you have. This is basically how much time you play the game, since it takes hours grouping with other people for a chance to obtain armor and weapons, which you may not get anything for your effort. There is a small amount of skill involved, but skill is pointless compared to the armor a person has, which comes from how much time the person puts into the game, and their luck. There is player vs. player, but it is quite a bad system. First off it requires waiting up to hours to get into a pvp match, and then there is the chanace for the game to last hours. There is a capture the flag game which usually ends in a stalemate, a capture the control points battle which can end up taking a long time, and a giant invasion battle that can end in a deadlock resulting in a battle taking multiple hours. Once your max level, the only things to do are mainly pvp, which is quite sad, and spend countless hours trying to get armor and weapons by grouping with people, which can be challange in itself since it may take a long time to find a group. Overall it is a game that you get addicted and then makes your spend lots of money to play after you have bought the game.

I used to play this game and I loved it, honestly. But it wasn't mine, my friend was letting me share his account (I can't afford to pay $100's a year!). And we both really loved playing it! We loved it so much that we became obsessed and spend all of our time playing it. Then he did one thing that at first I hated but now I'm glad he did. He bought the Wrath of the Litch King expansion pack online, but my computer didn't have it. So the next time I tried logging in, there was a message that said I needed the expansion to play this game. I was not about to spend $60 dollars on one simple game! So I never ended up playing it again. At first I was suffering from "MMORPG game-withdrawal." I couldn't sleep, couldn't concentrate in school... But I eventually got over it. So don't listen to those comments that say that it's an amazing game and that they'd recommend it to everyone. They're just obsessed. Another story that really happened to someone in China (it really is true!). A Chinese kid became obsessed with this game, so obsessed that his entire room was themed with WoW products. He never slept, never ate, and barely noticed when he got sick. He believed that when you die and go to Heaven, you can do whatever you want and be whatever you want, so one night, he was so obsessed that he killed himself to be with the WoW gods...True story.

i did the trial and i liked it but its definitely not worth 15$ a month

I've been a huge Blizzard fan since I started gaming oh so many years ago. Starcraft, Warcraft, Diablo, not to mention their old school games. They are really great. This time though, I'm not in their corner. I DO understand why this is a hugely popular game, but for someone who really appreciates a good game this just isn't one of them. The system is far to simplistic and unoriginal. Few races and few jobs make each character so similar to the next. The pointless and very thoughtless quest/rating system is not worth the time it took to create. Picture 3D Diablo, and you've got World of Warcraft. Did I have a problem with Diablo, certainly not, but is this an original and entertaining game worth the annoyingly high monthly fee: Not even close! If this game were $XX.XX to purchase and then the online experience was free (aka Guild Wars) then heck yeah I'd be all about WoW. But for the price of the game + each "expansion" and then the monthly fee. I'll stick with ANYTHING else thanks. Overall: Amusing for a moment, but not nearly worth the time or expense
