    Decent Game For Low Price

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is a game that hasn't gotten favorable reviews but for the low price of $9.99 it's well worth a try if you're into the hack and slash genre. The game plays similar to previous Ninja Gaiden games and the difficulty can be a bit challenging especially to new comers to the series. The game does get a bit repetitive at times but still managed to be an enjoyable game overall. The controls get some getting used to but not much of an ordeal that would get someone frustrated. For the asking price of $10 this is a no brainier choice for Ninja Gaiden fans and hack and slash fans alike (it should also be noted most copies are still the Special Edition version containing a DLC code for some Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate costumes and a digital Ninja Gaiden comic and soundtrack which is a plus), however if you're new to the genre it still wouldn't hurt to give it a chance but you're much better off getting one of the 3 original true Ninja Gaiden trilogy games instead.

    Not your typical Ninja.

Not your typical Ninja Gaiden game. The main character is well a "character", it's kind of a love him or hate him situation with him. The humor centered around the female form is lewd but I'm certain it would appeal more to someone else. Killing zombies with a ninja sword is awesome though.

    Style Over Substance

This is a game that I would rather watch than play. The bold graphic novel presentation of this title evokes a comic book come to life aesthetic that could have rejuvenated the Ninja Gaiden franchise. However the terrible camera, repetitive game play and terrible adolescent dialog conspire to relegate Yiaba as the red headed stepchild of the Ninja Gaiden series. For enthusiasts only…

    Wonderful addition to the franchise!

First off I wanna say that I have been playing games for the batter part of 20 years now & I also love the Ninja Gaiden series. I have follwed it since it's inception on the original NES. Also I want to point out this game has been getting a ton of negative flack. Don't listen to ANY of it ladies and gentleman. Also as an added bonus this game (unlike previous ones) has the influence of legendary Ex-Capcom developer "Keiji Inafune" (Most known for creating the "Mega Man" franchise all the while making Capcom a well respected developer in their humble beginnings). Having said all of that let me explain that "Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z" is a very unique spin on the franchise. For those unfamiliar let me clue you in. Normally through all the other Ninja Gaiden games you control/play as a fearsome ninja named "Ryu Haybusa". He is a man of honor and a very highly skilled ninja with a vast arsenal of weaponry. Also a kind hearted man underneath his quite and calm demeanor. Usually Ryu has to battle demons, monsters, terrorists, and corrupt mad men who just want to do nothing but take over the world! Ryu even has even appeared in EVERY "Dead or Alive" game & most recently he appeared as a guest character in the Dynasty Warriors & Samurai Warriors crossover "Warriors Orochi 3". In the case of this game however, you control a brand new character named "Yaiba". The game starts with a cinematic opening of Yaiba & Ryu fighting while it ending with Ryu not only cutting Yaiba's sword in half, but also half of Yaiba's body instantly killing him. Shortly afterwards Yaiba's body is recovered by a team of scientists under the order of special forces to revive him through the technology of "Cybernetics". Yaiba is contracted to stop a Zombie invasion all the while having a personal vendetta against Ryu Hayabusa. The game play is very simple and fun sort of "Hack'n Slash" sort of thing. Combos between his sword & cyborg arm are inded fun to mix and match. Also, the animation is very sort of "Anime-like" in comparison to the other Ninja Gaiden games which take a more realistic sort of look to them. Speaking of something else that is different is the writing/tone of the dialogue. Yaiba is very much a douchebag anti-hero. He curses up a storm and is chalk-full of one liners. Not much spoken dialogue in the other releases in comparison. If that doesn't bother you than otherwise, the game is ton 's of fun & challenging. Challenge has always been a big deal in the franchise and it is still properly represented here. Tecmo, Team Ninja & with Keiji Inafune's collaboration have all created a gem in my opinion. If you a Ninja Gaiden fan or a hack'n slash kind of gamer tgan this one is for real! Keep it real folks! ;)

Not alot of negatives as far as the actual gameplay. It's entertaining but I still have old visions of the earlier NG titles. Had I done some research beforehand I probably wouldn't have bought a game where you're pitting a ninja vs zombies.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is a different style of Ninja Gaiden. The first giveaway is the art style. Overall, it's a fun game that's worth checking out if you've played the previous, superior titles.

A great Ninja Gaiden game to add to your library. Especially at the entry point. Much more arcade like than the other titles, but worth the purchase price it is at now (under $10).

The game was fun for the first 30 minutes or so, then it just got repetitive with the endless hordes of enemy and became an exercise of mindlessness.
