    A Fantastic JRPG

Yakuza Like a Dragon is a fantastic JRPG. If you are a fan of the JRPG genre, this is one of the best games in recent memory for you to get. The story is great, well-told, dramatic, and funny. The music is also awesome, and the fight mechanics are fun. Solid OST and great characters (unique characters for a JRPG). Some series fans may miss the old combat style, but this is simply a better game than those by far.

Now I played through up to the prologue mostly cuz now that with this I have all the Yakuza games. Do I have to say the bid I did play was so good I made the RPG elements amazing. It has a very different feel but it is a Yakuza game. He is this could be a good entry point for those who don't know the series. The new protagonist makes it a good starting point. Plus it gives the vibes that are perfect for this new guy.. it's a beautiful blend of everything.

Have always been a fan of the series and this one did not disappoint. Thought the battle system is turn based which is new to the series, the game remain lots of fun. The story is great, the characters is lovable and the game offer variety of missions. Love the game and highly recommend for fans!

A ton of fun. I had never played a Yakuza game before, but with the turn-based combat, I thought I'd give this one a try, and I'm glad I did. Goofy, fun characters and story but also with the ability to be serious, with over-the-top combat and moves (try calling in a rain of crawfish to drop on your enemies!). Sounds like par for the course for the Yakuza series, from what I had heard of the others.

Bold choice for a series that's originally a beat em up. but the experiment paid as off, the game is refreshing with its new style of gameplay. characters are likable and the dub is pretty good, they have famous tv and film talents play key roles. Turn based combat maybe not for everyone but here it might win those who shy away from that gameplay. Its my personal game of the year, I am a fan now of yakuza games for just taking a chance with this game.

Despite being from the Yakuza series, this game is a pure JRPG. Despite removing the action based fighting system to a turn-based one the game is still extremely fun and addicting. The characters are all rememberable and the semi-open world is alive. The PS5 version plays so sleek and with the slight visual upgrades I must say it’s one of the best looking games I’ve played this generation. Cant recommend it enough!

It's quite a different experience when you first ply. This Yakuza game is the first in the series to go into a JRPG turn based combat, compared to the classic beat em up of prior titles. But it works, and keeps the same zany fun the series is always known for. I'm only 10 hours in, but so far, this is shaping up to be one of the top tier Yakuza games.

Yakuza Like a dragon combines the idea of the long running Yakuza franchise with the concepts of a turn based rpg and not just any turn based rpg mind you, no the grate grand dad Dragon quest. And that is just wonderful. If you can find yourself a copy you owe it to yourself to pick this game up to counter the past two years of negativity.

One of the best games I’ve played all year. My first Yakuza game and the combat change caught my interest. Love everything about it except I wish you could turn off trivial random battles. I play this streaming to my vita because I prefer rpgs handheld and turn based is good for laggy bits. Performance and graphics are amazing on PS4 pro.

I’ve got about 26 hours out into this game so far, and there’s still a ton to do. I’m having a blast. I wasn’t going to get this at first, because I thought it was another beat-em-up game like the other Yakuza games, but then I found out it’s actually a turn-based RPG and it’s great. The combat reminds me of Persona 5. The game has plenty of hilarious moments. All around, this game is awesome.

A new Yakuza game with a great fun twist. If you liked the Kiryu saga at all, then this might be a tad jarring, but still a solid game with a great story. Per usual, the story in the Yakuza games are solid and amazing. Everything you are use to in these games is exactly the same, but more refined with graphics and speed. Now the only issue.... RPG turn based vs the beat-em up style. Now this at times is kind of a drag, its fun and well made, and insanely goofy..which is funny to watch. Like doing a orbital strike with a roomba, or riding one to knock people down. But the issue....is it can slow your momentum down. otherwise, its a new Yakuza, and we should all be glad for it.

RGG Studios continues to strike the perfect balance between serious, engaging story and wild fun gameplay. If you were worried about the transition to becoming an RPG - don't be. This is definitely GOTY material, and I recommend it to everyone, whether you're new to the series or an existing fan.

I was a little skeptical about the turn base RPG gameplay change, as previous games in the Yakuza series were all in real time combat, but this change I feel is welcoming! It helps to give the game’s themes a lot of charm, and couple that with the best qualities from the series and you have one of the best games of 2020, as well as one of the best JRPGs I’ve played!

This game took me by surprise. I tried playing the other installments of Yakuza and I never seen them through, Like A Dragon however had me hooked. I started reading the reviews before I downloaded it and thought I was going to be turned off by the turn based combat but it was the COMPLETE opposite, matter of fact I wish all of the installments in the franchise were. You don’t have to play ANY of the previous Yakuza titles to understand and follow with this one. New characters, new plot, new everything compared to the other titles and it was a great choice for them to do that.

The first mainline Yakuza game without Kiryu and different combat. I was worried that this game would be disappointing because all the mainline games had amazing beat-’em-up combat. Fortunately, the RPG combat is fun and flashy and the new main character Ichiban is a welcome new protagonist to the series. A grip I have with this game is that after 11 the game makes you get 3 million yen which is only really possible through the business mini-game. Other than that the game is really fun.

Awesome game! I love all the Yakuza games, but this one changes it up a bit by going with turn based combat instead of a beat em up style of combat. Even if you're not a fan of turn based combat, give this game a chance. I am sure it has enough heart and charm to win you over.
