I was looking for a smart lock with simple contemporary design. Overall the material and quality are excellent. The installation was a breeze, but I had to purchase a wood spade bit to install doorsense.
You won’t be able to use a lock without setting it up via app first.
I have purchased additional z-wave module to integrate the lock with Ring system - amazingly no issues at all.
I can recommend this lock - it’s decent.

The lock works very well pretty simple install. Best Buy has it on sale more often than not. I went with the buttons because I don’t always have the best luck with touchscreens also you can add the Wi-Fi module whenever for the capability to lock/unlock anywhere. Bluetooth works well in my place so no issues but will get the Wi-Fi module later

I love coming home with bags and other junk in my hands and to not have to fumble with my keys to get the door open. And i really like the security of being notified when my door is locked and unlocked. Setup was super simple and fast also.

It can't get easier than installing this unit. I find the Bluetooth works really well and is more reliable than the Wi-Fi unit. However, the module can always be upgraded for more capabilities. Good buy.

For the price this smart is a very good buy. However, I really wanted. Schlage encode plus smart lock that IS NOT available at Best Buy and cost more.
But, I wanted newer technology and ability to unlock with my smart Apple Watch.

Yale has a good quality and easy to work. Problem was it didn’t come complete. I bought the internet module after. So, take care if they are complete when you buy.

Love this lock. Simple and easy installation and works seamlessly with Apple Homekit. One feature I love about this lock is even though it doesn't have a keyed entry (which makes it safer IMO) is on the bottom of the exterior key panel is a spot to connect a 9volt battery on the two metal nubs. This allows you to power it in case the batteries die, or you forget to change them, without being locked out. If you buy the one with the keyed entry, and you lose the keys and the batteries die, you will have to call a locksmith. The keyed entry model does not include the 9-volt connector. All in all its a great device. Highly recommended.

Yale is a well known brand, so I was excited to install it and add another smart device to my home.
The feeling dissipated once I finished installing it.
Out of the box you get a lot of parts. (If you have ever installed a new deadbolt lock, then this will be very easy).
You get all you need to install a deadbolt lock, the exterior keypad, and the interior battery access/manual locking housing.
Just about everything in this review will be a con.
Keep in mind that I have two other smart locks in my house, so I'm no stranger to installing and using smart locks. Both are from other companies.
So, finished installing the new deadbolt, attached the rear keypad through the deadbolt and attached it to the corresponding interior housing. I manually turned the latch, and great, it works. I installed the little doorsense sensor that you attach next to the lock, done.
I download the app, and this is where the fun begins. I go through the motions of the doorsense, and it's done. I press on the lock button on the app, and it tries to lock, and then unlocks. I tried locking it manually and then pressing unlock... same thing. In my frustration thinking that I'm losing it, I go and remove one of the other smart locks that I have, and no issue.
So the app doesn't seem to respond to well. I thought, maybe the deadbolt is getting jammed, so I get my power tools and open it up a bit. There's not jamming when I manually turn it, so that's not the issue.
I figure okay, this thing has a keypad, when all else fails, I can just put in my code, and I can get in that way. NOWHERE on the app does it guide you through the process of setting this up. I ended up searching for it online, and tried it, and that didn't work. I tried repeatedly without avail.
Ultimately I have a shiny fancy looking smart lock that doesn't function as a smart lock... I rarely give 1 stars, but in this case, the Yale lock earned it. I would not recommend this one. I would use a good ole key deadbolt over this smart lock.

Works well but re-establishing bluetooth connectivity is slow. I ran into some glitches setting up the app with my iPhone that was a little frustrating. The app would spin and do nothing. After closing the app and restarting a few times, the lock finally connected. Once connected, everything else was easy.
However, if you've got home automation set-up, I highly recommend getting the wifi enabled version. Yale sells an upgrade to this lock for wifi, but it's just as easy to get it with wifi out of the box despite the sticker shock since these aren't exactly inexpensive.
