There were times when it didn't want to work so we were locked out until we went to another door or called someone in the house to unlock. We rarely locked if we weren't home, but we would accidentally touch the Yale button, so it would lock. It did come with a key but the lock was used for the back door and so we wouldn't really carry the key around. I could have attempted to work with it to figure out a solution, but there was one annoying thing about this lock I couldn't overcome so I ended up returning it. The most annoying part is that when you unlock or lock it through the keypad, it made a very loud beeps. It's so loud, I feel the neighbors can hear it. There is a sound toggle and it was on silent so I don't know why it kept beeping loudly.

I’m not sure if this is the best purchase there are others that have the same features for less.

It looks good. But does not stay locked. It was returned for safety purposes. I don’t know what happened to the “Yale” brand?????
