This is a solid stereo with HDMI switching and Bluetooth. I was impressed by the sound (note: using $1000 speakers). Only downside is no audio out for an external amp. That said, I'd buy this again and may buy the lower level Yamaha system for my bedroom.

Overall this is a great product and sound system. Looking forward to getting a MusicCast speaker for the wireless room pairing. Note that it seems you cannot play your wired speakers and a third party Bluetooth speaker at the same time which is implied by the MusicCast documentation (and the reason I went with this system, ugh). So you do need wired speakers or the MusicCast speaker(s) to get the wireless multi room capability. They need a MusicCast speaker that is truly a portable speaker option that has good battery and great sound, only having wired power "wireless" speakers is not fully wireless and can limit placement options. However this seems to be a common limitation currently with multi room wireless sound systems like Sonos, etc. Power is good and even. Wireless pairing from audio source on phone can have issues with bad constant skipping and the system needs to be rebooted periodically but could be my router/network, not sure. Overall a good option for a mixed wired/wireless system (now that I'm over the fact you can only pair MusicCast speakers plus the wired simultaneously.

Yamaha has always produced great receivers. This is my second one. I recently purchased a 4K TV and wanted a 4K receiver with Bluetooth. It produces great sound! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

This Yamaha receiver paired up with Klipsch speakers have an unbelievable sound quality. Easy to install. Wifi connection was very simple. The remote is a little chunky nut no big deal. Great price!

For the price this is an excellent receiver. Great sound and easy to set up. Be aware there is a power on sequence necessary for advance menu options. You will have to refer to manual which is on CD

Hookup was straight forward and simple. Automatically knew a Roku was connected and updated itself one hooked to the internet. After using the mic to run its speaker setup it sounds great

I needed to find a replacement for my 11 year old receiver. when I up graded to a 4K 3D 75 inch Samsung and I wasn't sure what to get. The salesman at Best Buy told me, if it was for him he would buy this Yamaha, which I took his advice. This was very good advice because I love it. The sound is amazing. Between this receiver and the Klipsch speakers I feel I hit a home run with this purchase.

This was a birthday present for my 25 year old son. It fills all his needs with Bluetooth to power enough to have the house vibrate with our powered sub connected!

You can play your songs on your phone through the Bluetooth. I love this receiver. The sound is so clear.

I bought a 4K tv and needed a receiver to support the format. I have always had good luck with Yamaha and this is no different. Easy to use and sounds great.

Setup was easy, instructions were easy to follow. Just wished that they were supplied in paper form. I also like the iPad app. Excellent sound quality.

Easy to set up. Had plenty of HDMI connections to work with. The price was outstanding for the receiver and the options on the receiver. Highly recommend the product and seems to be good quality.

This thing is great. First off, it sounds really good. I have it coupled with some pretty good speakers, so that helps, but the sound that the amplifiers put out is very clean. I don't have the full surround setup (yet) so I can't really comment on that processing at the moment. However, the other stuff that this receiver does is awesome. The MusicCast app and features are what I've been waiting for someone to develop for a long time. Make sure to connect the receiver to your network. You won't be disappointed.

Great system, I needed more optical connections so I returned for a Denon AVR-X1300W... I immediately returned and bought the Yamaha RX-V681 and now I"m happy. You can immediately see teh difference between the Denon and the Yamaha by the quality of the set up menu, the volume knob itself, and the time they took to build the app well. I ended up $200 higher than my budget, but I'm happy with where I ended. Two different Best Buy reps said the sound is the same.. it is not. You have way more options with the Yamaha.

Had to replace my denon due to life changes. This unit had great reviews so I pulled the trigger and ordered it. Not as many hdmi inputs as our denon but enough for all my components. The sound is excellent for our media room and I really like the Yamaha iOS app for controlling the unit. Actually prefer it over the remote that comes with the unit as I can turn on the music from anywhere as long as I can access our home wifi. I'm by no means an audiophile, i do really like the unit.

One of the best budget atmos/dtsX receivers you can buy. Does not get super loud sadly but sounds amazing!!!!
