Glad I read the reviews first to know that this would be a good product. Purchased as a replacement to 4 year old receiver (hdmi port broken) and I am very glad with this upgraded model. 4K quality is awesome. I currently have this hooked up to my Sony projector, blu-ray player, and cable box. Sound and picture quality are all great. If the price were lower then I would give 5 stars.

Replaced a 7.2 Onkyo (TX-NR-626) that began having problems in the first year. Have an older 5.1 Yamaha (RX-V667) that I've had for years in another room and have never had problems. So I went back to Yamaha. Glad I did! Sound is better and not as difficult to configure and set-up as the Onkyo.

I purchased this on clearence after talking to one of the knowledgeable sales associates/managers. I'm not sure if its because of the speakers or this unit, but it is very powerful/loud. I'm afraid to turn it all the way up and blow out my windows. The surround works great.

Was skeptical at first never thought I would have to pay this much for my surround to work, but overall this product is very good. Been using it for about two weeks now, getting used to the settings and stuff. And I've had no problems with it at all. Well worth the money spent.

This receiver is an update from my previous Yamaha RX-473. Along with 2 more speaker channels (which I will soon be using), I wanted to have the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability. Installation and setup was easier than ever and the performance is wonderful.

The overall sound of the product is good, but there are problems with yamaha receivers connecting to computers and satellite television providers. Specifically when you connect the Yamaha with dish networks remote, the remote cannot turn on the receiver. Have another receiver and it has the same issue. The other functions work fine, such as volume control and turning off the receiver. The other issue is with connecting the receiver to an HTPC (home theater PC) there are many issues with the sound not working. I did some research and this is another problem with Yamaha Recievers. Even if the firmware on the receiver is updated, and your computers operating system is updated (including the bios) you must continually change the speaker setup on the computer to have your audio play in 5 or 7 channels. This is a major pain in the butt, and Yamaha does not care to fix the issues.

There is nothing to overly complicated about this thing. The set up was easy and there is really not much to get you confused if you are not an audio guy. The wireless streaming from my phone is my favorite and the app that you can get with it is awesome.

Upgraded my 5 year old 3D pioneer and the difference in technology is amazing the 4K pass through (read your disk to turn on) is amazing the 7.1 I'm still running 5.1 set up is great sound and the air play feature and wireless connection is a plus

Originally I went to BB and the salesman advised me to buy another amplifier which did not work with my system. So I had to go back and get the right one after speaking to Yamaha. Now this one rocks. Great features but not that easy to use.

I realy wanted a Marantz. Finace was not enough for 1 so i did the next best thing and found this Yamaha, It has surpased my expectations for quality and sound, and with music cast i can listen in any room i want. I would recomend this for those who are looking for a great product on a budget.

We bought this unit to hook up to our Xbox One. Got some Sony speakers and nicer speaker wire and about an hour later (we're kinda slow) we were watching our Blu-rays with great sound. Family movie night is must-see TV now!

I bought this to upgrade my previous Yamaha system that was at least 12 years old and couldn't decode the newer platforms. I bought this item and was not disappointed! This is another wonderful product from Yamaha. I have a 7.1 system hooked into it with Klipsch speakers and it is amazing. The MusicCast app is pretty awesome and lets you control everything with your receiver through a smart phone!

This is a great model for the price range that has excellent sound. The Dolby at most and E TS X this is a great model for the price range that has excellent sound. The Dolby atmos and Dts X are both great on this unit

Excellent quality and value. Worked great for the first few days. Then it changed somehow so the tv must always be on and always be on the receiver, or the receiver turns itself off. Can't seem to undue this feature. Other than that, it's great in every way.

The receiver I was using was an old Onkyo. It worked fine but in order to get all the new audio tracks I had to go to hdmi. Never tried Yamaha before with BestBuy having this one on sale thought I would give it a try. I love it. My speakers sound fantastic.

Replace an old (non HDMI) Sony receiver and have been so far impressed. Gave an old Bose Acoustimass 10 system (circa 1997) new life. Can hear things on sports broadcasts we never were able to hear before.

I haven't messed with it because I am not smart enough to know what the heck I am doing, but so far I am happy with it. Get good sound, good picture, plays my CD and that is all I can ask from it.

Bought this receiver on an open-box deal. Set up was pretty easy if you're familiar with how to work with speaker wire. Like the app that you can use to control it; I find it easier than the remote.

This receiver was so much lighter and easier to set up from the 10 year old Yamaha receiver I replaced. Very impressed with simplicity and sound. Supports my home theater requirements.
