We had an onkyo an it didn’t last long . So far the Yamaha is loud easy to use an has a lot of bells an whistles.

Haven’t bought a new receiver in some time but this device was easy to setup and understand. Great buy for the price too.

Great for my 5.1. Good sound. Easy enough setup. Took a bit to find the correct setting that I liked. But easy enough.

This Yamaha looks great sounds great and was easy to install the speakers to and nsvigate thru the menu.

I own the Yamaha Aventage 7.2 RX-A680 BL big brother unit to this receiver. I was amazed how many of the sound features shipped with this model. I have a small 5.1 gaming setup in a 12’x14’ room and it is perfection. I replaced a 10 year old entry level Onkyo receiver. Once I connected the new receiver, I noticed much lower distortion, greater clarity and separation, with the same speaker setup. All of my speakers with the exception of the sub woofer are mounted on the ceiling. Other key feature I like, it supports AirPlay. So I can steam video from phone directly to the unit without an Apple TV.

Great receiver from Yamaha. This receiver is performing as I hoped. Excellent control for my system and the sound is clear, with depth and presence. The remote is well laid out and easy to remember where specific buttons are located. I am pleasantly surprised at how cool it runs compared to my previous receiver (a Sony that performed well for me for many years). A very good buy considering the capabilities, quality and performance.

Yamaha has best surround sound effects processor and its one of the easiest to set up

Works great. Menus are simple to navigate. A wide variety of room sound choices which is great fun.

Great AV Receiver with many good features. It's not the most expensive receiver available nor does it have features of more expensive ones but it has what I need and does it's job very well. The video and sound are of great quality. I really like the Bluetooth capability. I've used it to stream music from my phone and it is very easy to do. I highly recommend this receiver. I believe it will do all you really need.
