I already had the next lower model of Yamaha AV Receiver that I had purchased several years earlier for another TV, so when I got a 4K/HDR TV I got this to allow pass-through of the 4K signal. Sound is fantastic, and pass-through TV picture is indistinguishable from direct connect. Bluetooth connectivity is great for playing music from Spotify. Very happy with this receiver!

Purchased since my old system of one HDMI input, one HDMI output no longer updated critical streaming software. Set up took some reading of the on-line manual, but not bad. Presets made custom sound for radio vs pandora vs Netflix easy, and thus you can tailor the sound to how you like it. Has very good auto-tuning set up with mike. Note you will need a powered subwoofer.

I upgraded to this from an old Sony. very easy to set up and sounds great.

I have added this Yamaha receiver to my TV/Stereo sound setup in my home office. It is a great product that was available at a very affordable price, is easy to set up, and has plenty of features for performance today and future expansion or upgrades in the future. This is my third Yamaha receiver currently functioning in my house, which offers a sense of familiarity and ease of use.

Had been saving for a receiver for a while and man was it worth the wait . Having purchased a TV set, I needed some sound to match the screen . Now with the speakers I owned watching movies sound great and don’t get me started on watching sports because it sounds like I’m in the stadium. Honestly I still haven’t used all the features this component comes with but satisfied with what I do use !!!

Very happy with this unit. I play my iPod music, Bluetooth from my phone and it powers all my speakers very well.

I bought the RX-V485 receiver to replace a still functioning, 6 year old Yamaha RX-V471 receiver. I wanted 4K & wireless speaker capabilities. I am not sure if I am getting 4k resolution or not (it is connected to a 4K TV & 4K disc player) but the wireless speakers work well after some good tech support from Yamaha. I am happy with what I classify as a frivolous expenditure.

The previous homeowner had an Onkyo receiver but it wasn't working when we moved in. The in ceiling speakers are located throughout the main level - family room, kitchen, dining room, living room and office. It wasn't getting any power from the amplifier. I did a lot of research and found this Yamaha had the features I was looking for. This Yamaha receiver is just awesome. I connected the main speaker wires to the Monster Speaker selector. The only setting I changed was HDMI passthrough so I can watch my FIOS when the receiver is powered off. I love how it has MusicCast, so I can play SiriusXM, Pandora and even Apple AirPlay through the MusicCast Controller iphone App. I can now hear the music throughout the main level. I am one happy camper now. I ordered through Best Buy web site and it got delivered in one day! That beats Amazon! It was packaged well and there was no damage.

This receiver was very easy to use sound is great and the Bluetooth was easy to hookup to my iPhone and pad great product
