This was purchased to replace our 25 year old Yamaha Tuner/Amp. Although it doesn't have the power (wattage) of our old unit it seems more than adequate. It's in a large room (>600 square feet with 15' ceiling) and performs well. Hole it lasts as long as the last one!

Excellent 5.1 surround receiver for the price!! I am a 40 year Yamaha audiophile and this unit did not disappoint. Anyone looking for a quality 5.1 receiver should not hesitate to pick this one up. Had it delivered to the house and showed up within 3 days!!

Sound is great Setup is a breeze App works great Only complaint is that no matter what i do to setup HDMI as the default Sound output, this thing defaults to Audio 1 Every time. I tried a full reset and new setup and it really wants audio 1 to be the sound when my TV comes on even though i am using HDMI 1 ARC

THE YAHAMA RX V485 IS THE BEST RECEIVER THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED. THIS RECEIVER IS PACKED WITH SMART FEATURES. IT HAS INTERGRATED PERFECTLY WITH EVERYTHING THAT I ALREADY OWNED. I REALLY LIKE THE FREE INTERNET RADIO AND THAT YOU CAN SEE YOUR ADJUSTMENTS ON THE TV SCREEN, HDMI INPUTS MAKE CONNECTIONS VERY EASY AND NEAT.

Since I bought an new LG Nano TV, I needed to upgrade my 3-year old Denon S510BT AVR. I really hated to do it but didn't feel that I had much of a choice because of the new video technologies. After 3 days of research, everything kept pointing back to this unit. It had the best features and dimensions for my requirements. I will never need a 7.2 channel unit or Dolby Atmos. This is not my first Yamaha receiver but it is by far the most impressive. As I eluded to earlier, it seems that new TV technologies demand more pass through upgrades i.e HDR10 and Dolby Vision. This had it all at a fantastic price! I would also like to mention the awesome internet radio capability. In my opinion, the days of air reception are simply over. In addition, I sincerely believe that I have a "more future-proof" device with this wonderful little package.

for a receiver it does the job well, pushes my infinity speakers with nice tone. I am having issues with it and my Samsung TV. I'll tun them on with my Xfinity remote and there is no pic or sound until I switch of the cable HDMI input to the blue ray input and back, then works fine. frustrating as all get out for my wife! (and me when she expresses it)

Great range, good sound, 4k passthrough and multiple sources

This is an awesome receiver! Very easy to set up and connect to WiFi and Bluetooth. The range for Bluetooth is great, I can walk just about everywhere in my house. The quality of sound is very clear even with my old speakers.

We own the Yamaha RX-V485 for a few weeks now and use it many hours daily. The kids love it for getting all the thrills when watching a film. We listen to music, watch films and documentaries. It is easy to setup and connect to the speakers, TV and Blu-Ray player. Connecting it to mobile devices and Spotify was done faster than I have ever done and everything sounds clear and balanced. I can recommend the Yamaha RX-V485 to everybody.

I previously had the RXV673 model of Yamaha receiver, but since that one didn't support the HDMI cables required for HDR, I needed to upgrade. After checking available units in my price range, I was going with either a Sony (which I was also familiar with) or another Yamaha. This Yamaha has noticeably better sound than the old one, and required no adjustment to its default audio settings.

I originally purchased this to replace an old receiver with a buzz that was used primarily for watching TV and listening to CDs in the family room. I have absolutely fallen in love with the wi-fi feature where I can stream endless music from my NAS drive or Internet Radio and the sound quality is impeccable.
