I purchased this Yamaha disc changer to replace a disc changer that malfunctioned and was out of order. The market being what it is for CD's, CD players and related hardware is now considered obsolete with streaming being the new craze. I am old school and CD was considered at the time of it's inception to be a technological breakthrough to replace Audio Cassette Tape. At around the same time that CD hit the market there was also Digital Audio Tape (DAT) that just couldn't compete because of the interactive Menu Addressing of Compact Disc. I like CD, however there are differences in sound that CD will not pickup being that digital audio relies on number values where analog does not. With analog you get subtle and not so subtle sounds that digital does not replicate. That's where the Yamaha CD-C600 (Natural Sound) comes into the picture. What is imperative to have from a CD player is a high quality Digital To Analog Conversion (DAC) component built into your CD player and the Yamaha CD-C600 has just that. The Burr Brown DAC which is a top notch preference if you are going to invest in a CD changer or player. That combined with other convenient features like the USB Front and Ipod connections to play your music files through the high quality circuitry of this Yamaha makes this a good investment for music lovers. The remote control that comes supplied with this CD changer will also change to next or previous track on your Ipod with the push of either corresponding button. This Yamaha model will also read CD - Text on CD's if you enable the feature within the program you use to burn your CD's. Not the most expensive and not the cheapest either, just an all around good buy for the features and sound. Over all I am very impressed with this Yamaha model. I am still learning how to use this component as it comes supplied with a remote control and operates a little differently than CD Changers from the past and Yamaha has done a great job to advance the technology of these units.

My old Sony bit the dust after two decades, i searched to find a replacement only to find there is not much to choose from. I chose the Yamaha based on the reviews and let's face it, everyone knows Yamaha means quality.. We had the unit set up in a matter of minutes. It is easy to use. I love having the ability to shuffle. The remote seems confusing with all the various buttons, but I think I have finally got it down. If you enjoy listening to CDs through a stereo, you will have no regrets on this purchase.

If you are looking for a CD player with a changer, this one looks good, sounds good and works well.

Sound quality is smooth, clean and crisp, a must have multi-disc player. I got this 3 mo.s ago and i love it and you can still change cd's while the other one is still playing.

Get it while you can. Most music listeners bypass cd's for modern music format. I like having cd's because I'm and old school. A good cd player is to me essential becuase of the amount of them out there. It also has a Ipod/Usb input on the front which brings it into the 21st century.

This CD player was purchased for use in my church for our choir. We purchased separately a piece of equipment to hook it to our sound system, and it was works beautifully. Great sound and fairly easy to operate. The one thing I personally have trouble with is the standby mode. It seems when I cue up a song and press pause, by the time I need it during the service it has gone into that standby mode and I can't seem to get it out of it without turning the whole thing off and unplugging it from the power source. I'm sure there is an easier way to do it, but I haven't figured it out yet. Still, it does a beautiful job and meets our needs well.

Although this seems pretty pricey for a CD changer,we bought it because of the reviews and the name (Yamaha). We have two complaints. First, there is no Disk Skip button on the unit. If you want to skip to the next disk you either have to use the remote or press the (on unit) numbered button corresponding to the desired disk. This may seem petty, but we have owned several Sony's in the past and it was nice being able to open the unit and skip to the disk we want to change. With the tray open, it is very difficult to use the on-unit buttons, so you have to use the remote (just pray you don't lose it and that it doesn't break). Our other complaint is that the display does not show the number of tracks on the CD. Again, our Sony's did and that was nice to see how many tracks were left. Overall, we are pleased with the quality of the unit and it's performance.

This is our third CD changer over the years - first Yamaha. Sound Quality and overall functioning is terrific. Hope to get years of enjoyment out of this unit.

Needed to replace my 20+ year old Sony changer which finally gave up the ghost. One has very limited choices these days when it comes to CD changers. I've always had faith in the quality of Yamaha components and this changer doesn't disappoint. I listen to a lot of jazz and I noticed an improvement in the sound quality almost immediately. The build is solid and the unit runs super quiet when changing over CD's. I especially like the PlayXchange feature. If you're an "old" dude like me with a large CD library this unit is well worth it's cost for listening to hours of top-shelf music.

Recently upgraded everything but my old Sony Cd disc changer, which I already thought was sounding great on the new speakers... Def Tech towers. I've been listening to music every day for the past 2 months and the moment I turned on this Yamaha, wow. Immediately noticed a big difference. My speakers, which I have to point out sounded amazing already, came alive even more. Deeper bass, warmer treble ... louder, I could here sounds coming from this Yamaha I didn't hear the day before with the old Sony. I have to say If you have a higher end home theater/speakers but still listening to CD's with an old school player, you should not be disappointed in this at all. I have it hooked up with good RCA cables playing in "pure direct" mode coupled with my receiver running in pure direct as well. Couldn't be happier. If you can find one, get it. Old but decent Sony players on Ebay are not much cheaper. This Yamaha is worth every penny brand new.

i am "old school" and not too familiar with modern technology so the 5 changer CD player works for me so I can listen to all my music from the 50's and 60's.

My old Sony multi CD player stopped working. This one is great and plays everything. Was lots of confusion in the questions area about the random play or SHUFFLE play. You just hit a button on the remote and all discs / all songs play in random order, just like my Sony did. Great sound and features.

I bought this as a replacement for an older Yamaha CD exchanger because the tray wouldn't open anymore. This one is just as great. The sound is excellent and the features are great. I just hope the tray doesn't stop working on this one too. Nothing compares to old CD sound!

Great specs for this price point. Unit is very intuitive to use. Sound is much better than the Sony unit it replaced. One of the last of the 5 disc CD players left. I am considering buying a second one just to have a spare.

Our last CD Changer was 20 years old - I hope we get 20 years out of this one. It is a bit on the pricey side, but there are so few changers out there and we needed one that plays CD-Rs and CD-RWs. Having said this, the setup was easy, and the fit and finish are first class. It sounds great!

Excellent cd changer...easy to operate and looks good.

Been looking for a 5 or 6 disc player for a while and had a choice between two. I went with the Yamaha. I have been told that all the 5&6 disc players will be gone soon. Everyone making single players only and I bet they will not be around long. So if you are looking for 5 or 6 disc player you might want to buy one soon.

This product not only plays CDs but plays all my music on my Apple iPad via the USB port.
