I am no audiophile, I am using this with Monoprice speakers, but setup is easy, it sounds great, and has adequete features.

I connected it with Hisense 4K TV, Xbox One S, and some cheap Sony 5.1 speakers, and it sounds great! When you turn on one device everything goes on, so you don't need all of the different remotes. Good options for customizing and Bluetooth works great I streamed directly from my iPhone. Remember to use all high speed hdmi cables for connecting 4K I also needed an optical cable because my tv only has one ARC port that is 4K@30hz, but I use the 4K@60hz port for HDR which does not have ARC. So that's the tv's fault not the receiver.

I bought this Yamaha receiver to replace a failing Onkyo 7.2 that was 9 years old. It kept losing the HDMI signal even after replacement capacitors every 3 years. I only use 5.1 surround and the Yamaha is great with four HDMI 2.0 (all with HDCP 2.2) and plenty of DSP surround effects modes. I like Sports and Chamber Hall the most. Easy connections for 5.1 speakers and superb calibration with the included microphone - very accurate in speaker placements. Definitely has a full feature set - especially for the under $200 range.

When our old system began experiencing problems we knew it was time to look at a replacement. We found the perfect price with easy set up with Yamaha - 700W 5.1-Ch 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass. Using our old speakers (which were still working fine) we now have a system for our living room that has superior sound that can be easily tailored to any room. Compared to setting up the old receiver this one was a breeze—up and running in less than 45 minutes (the last took well over two hours!). Can't say enough good things!

This was my first experience with home theater systems. It was a breeze to set up. It has 6 inputs. Speakers connects were a little tricky but not bad. I love the different setting for style....orchestra, jazz, pop, etc.

I went to Best Buy to get ink for my printer and came across this receiver in the clearance section. I've been wanting to replace my older model Yamaha with something that had hdmi. This receiver is amazing. It synced perfectly with my Bose Acoustimass speakers, 4K Samsung tv, my Comcast box, PS4 and Xbox One. The 4K pass through made the picture even better. The sound is amazing. Highly recommend! I've been saying this for 30+ years......for the money, nothing sounds better than Yamaha and Bose together.

This is my second Yamaha receiver. I purchased the first one about 4 years ago to run our home theater 5.1 system. It is still going strong so I decided to buy another Yamaha for our secondary TV. For the price this receiver is one of the best options. Punch, highs, mids, lows, and blue tooth. The set up is always easy and the menu is intuitive. I mean it's a no brainer. You can't go wrong with this receiver.

I chose this receiver based on multiple online reviews, including CNET. It does not disappoint. It has everything i need for a surround sound system. Bluetooth was easy to set up on Apple devices. Setup for the receiver took less than 10 minutes. The system pushes my Andrew Jones Pioneer speakers with excellent results. I'm very pleased with the value this receiver presents.

Easy to setup. Works well with my new 4k TV. The HDMI ports are adequate for a dvd player and other aux items.

Good price and easy setup make this an easy choose. Great sound and for the price it better than the pioneer i already have.

I bought this to replace my previous Yamaha that had just failed. Hooked up my devices and speakers, let this unit auto-adjust the sound levels and it is great! I really like the on screen menu for making changes/adjustments to the sound configuration. I also like the ability to Bluetooth connect my phone to the receiver and play my digital collection. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a replacement receiver.

Setup was easy,sounds great,decent power only gave 4 stars cuz Bluetooth connectivity isnt great/doesn't connect with my iPhone.

Great bang for the buck. Building out new theater but have need for two surround receivers throughout house. Was on fence between this and a much more expensive Denon. Thought I'd start with this to keep budget down and then slide this to other room and get the Denon later. Might still do that, but there is absolutely no rush, this receiver truly punches above its price point.

This Yamaha AV receiver replaced a 20 year old Sony that I really liked but suddenly conked out. I couldn't afford a pricey replacement so when I found this unit at this price I was plesently surprised. It's minalmist face controls took a bit to get used to. Once I learned the remote control interface functions it became easier. Yamaha includes a microphone of sorts that when positioned in the room and the unit is in sound program mode it is supposed to adjust the speaker sound profile accordingly for optimum sound quality. I tried but did not care for the results. Perhaps I did not do it correctly but in any case, I set the individual speaker tones and distances manually for my room and seating arangement. I used my four existing floor speakers but then purchased a Yamaha powered subwoofer (also reasonably priced ), dialed in the 5.1 surround sound and the result was fantastic! All detailed instructions were on a cd which was good....except I only have a desk top computer and it and the sound system were not in the same room. I had to run back and forth for the set up learning curve. A lap top would make that a lot more effecient. Maybe Yamaha could include that next time, lol! All in all..I really like this unit. Sounds way better than what I had before and I didn't have to break the bank!

Geek squad certified and great price reduction. Sounds great, has everything one could want. Easy set up I could have done myself, but had purchased an entire new system, complete with tv and stand, so had it all assembled and installed by Best Buy. The receiver kept shorting and turning off. The installer came back and made new speaker connections. So far, so good. Very happy with the purchase if there is no more shorting out.

This is a absolutely great piece of equipment for almost any price level. Sounds stunning, options are abounding. Bluetooth, timing adjustment, speaker level adjustment, and so on. Worth the price and more. You will not be disappointed.
