Purchased this for a couple of outdoor speakers for the backyard. A little sceptical at first because it was a lower cost option. The moment I hooked it up I thought WOW!!!! This was a great purchase. The Bluetooth really sets this apart.

Affordable and great receiver. I have my computer hooked up to the 4K output, along with 2 consoles, PS4 and Wii U through HDMI, and Optical going to the TV for 4K streaming surround. High speed HDMI is going through the arc to the TV. I have no issues seamlessly switching between all inputs.

I initially got the next model down and returned it when I realized that for another $150 I could have Wifi and USB access for music playback. Clean look and sound with easy to use features and commands. I am quite happy with this receiver.

If you're 'all things electrical' challenged like I am, hooking up a receiver to an existing surround sound system was intimidating. But, less than 10 minutes later, everything up and running and sounding great (easy on the wallet too)

My mom's old Pioneer receiver's optical input, which supplied the sound from a newer digital television, stopped working. It was over 10 years old, long past any warranty, and long before 4K. I decided it was time to find something new for her to use. I liked that this receiver has easy-push, easy-programmable buttons on the front of the unit labeled for BD, TV, CD, Radio - the main things my mom would use. Setup was easy, programming the button for her particular TV setup was super easy, and she loves the picture and sound that she has now. She can finally enjoy a clearer HD television signal than she had with her old receiver, and she finds it so much easier to switch from one component to another (from TV to BluRay to CD, etc.) with the buttons or with the remote.

We are very happy with this receiver. Good sound quality.

Basic setup is fairly simple but to get the most out of the system you really need to dig in a setup to YOUR preferences. The major draw back to this system is what a lot of new systems don't have, a Instruction manual. You must down load a manual then try to figure it out. If I had a printer that worked I would have printed it out. After about 2 days of messing with it, the system was set to what I wanted. Over several months I have tweaked it but it has never let me down nor forgotten any of my settings. The only thing in my A/V room that hasn't reset due to power outage or anything. System does get hot when used at loud volumes. Even at normal volumes you need to make sure it has ventilation. I have mine in a cabbnet with temperature controlled fans with micro filters on the intakes. Over all, a good starter system for those that want a tuneable sound system.

I just needed a receiver for our family room 75" TV audio, and the Yamaha does a great job at a very reasonable price! It has many features that I am not using, but they are there should I ever feel the need. Highly recommend!

This is my first home theater system. This receiver is pushing 5 Bose surround speakers and subwoofer. It sounds great and I haven't turned it up yet. Very pleased with this unit. And the price doesn't break the bank.

There isn't much not to like when you get a Yamaha brand receiver at the price point Best Buy sells these at. You get a good quality brand for entry level price. Good value without a lot of extras to keep the cost low.

I'm very pleased with the Yamaha V381, it has more than sufficient power to run my 5 speakers plus the Sub Woofer. Produces very clear sound and it's fairly easy to operate. I'm very happy with the purchase.

I was in the market for a replacement of a 25+ year old receiver which was not sufficient to cope with the new digital TV connections. I didn't want to spend a ton of money but wanted quality and I got it with the Yamaha receiver. I did have some problems with set up in that I felt that the supplied paper documentation was somewhat hard to follow but with the online version and some careful rereading I was able to get everything hooked up so it works well with my smart TV. Now I get great digital sound for my subscription services. The receiver paired well with my Bose speaker system but I was sorry that I didn't have a separate subwoofer which would have been accommodated by the Yamaha. There are plenty of inlets/outlets on this receiver to satisfy the basic needs of a sound system. I would definitely purchase again.

Receiver has good quality sound and is very simple to use. We were just attaching one item and two speakers so we did not need an elaborate receiver. This is very good and functional for what we needed.

The different options for number of speakers and sound styles is great but the ability to control all input into the tv thru the receiver is awesome. love it so much, so simple and sounds fantastic.

This was the perfect gift and it works as expected. All of the current features, sounds great, easy to hook up to home theater, no complaints. I recommend this as a good receiver for a good price.

I bought this receiver shortly after New Years Eve, my old one which was a Sony eventually stopped working. So I literally threw it out on trash day, and bought the Yamaha. I wasn't disappointed, the sound is clear and crisp, also the picture gets enhanced through the receiver. I have some other Sony products also, a dvd player but the picture comes out blurry after having owned it for some years. My PS2 also has the same problem blurred picture, I won't buy any more Sony products in the future. Also a couple of store employees said Yamaha has stepped up their technology. If this receiver gives me a lot of service, I'll keep buying Yamaha.

I purchased this unit in 2016 and it has been performing great since then. Just enough output for a standard 5.1 surround sound home system. Multiple functionalities and easy to use menu.

This is the first time I have purchased Yamaha product and I am so impressed the sound and the quality is superb at very attractive price I will definitely recommend this product

This receiver is for our family room that only powers a radio and cd player, it is perfect for the job. Good quality sound and plenty of features for our purposes. Good value with lots of power for the money.
