When our old sound system's life ended we looked around for an affordable, efficient system to give our living room the theater sound and feel we'd had. After reviewing a number of systems on Best Buy's website we decided to pick up the Yamaha A/V receiver. To my surprise installation and hook up were simple both simple and straightforward and compatible with our installed speakers. In less than an hour we were back up with a great sound that filled our living room and brought movies to theater-like life. Excellent!

My last two receivers were Yamaha, and I remain sold on the quality of their products. This model replaces my two year old entry level receiver. I wanted the ability to have a receiver that could handle the new HDR tv's, and wanted to add the Bluetooth technology to my receiver. While this is the entry level model for Yamaha, it more than does the job for this long time audiophile. The ability to sync this receiver up with my Amazon Echo Dot, allowing md to stream my music through my sound system is a great value added.

Easy to set up. Communicates with my TV and other devices well via the HDMI. Lacking in some of the audio tuning options that more discerning users might be looking for.

If you want a good quality entry level reciever for a fair price this is it. Sounds great and has more features than I expected.

I must admit that I replied on the Best Buy salesman who suggested this receiver to mate with my new 4K HDTV, new Blu-Ray player, existing CD player, and surround-sound speakers. And this Yamaha receiver has worked flawlessly. One of its best features is the Yamaha Parametric Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO). You simply plug in the little (included) microphone and place it in your listening position. Then the system automatically adjusts all the speaker settings to suit the room. Quite impressive really!
