Great AV receiver. Unfortunately I had to return it because the depth was too large for my home theater cabinet which would not allow the cabinet door to close.

I'm happy to say it's working exactly the way I expected. It has many more bells and whistles (not literally!) than earlier receivers I've had. I'm still exploring some of the features and getting it set up, but so far I'm very happy with it's performance. One thing I'm especially happy with is all the inputs. I'm running my cable box, 2 blu-rays, a ROKU, an Apple TV, an HD DVD, a laserdisc player, a VHS and even the sound for 16mm film projectors in my home theater.. I also like being able to access my Sirius XM account in my house. Something I had not been able to do before.

Would highly recommend this. Great sound and easy-to-use.

I had to get this because a oldee denon I owned stopped working.

Yamaha makes a solid and reliable product and the case was no different with this receiver. Sound is excellent and I found the UI to be fairly straightforward and intuitive. I tried a Denon before this but as other have stated about Denon, it did get pretty hot and I worried about its longevity. With the Yamaha it never gets anything much more than warm to the touch. Ultimately I went with the big brother to this, the 2080, since I wound up upgrading to tower speakers for fronts after purchasing and wanted just a bit more power. Nonetheless, I would highly recommend either of these as they are solid performers.

Would have given it 5 stars except I had to return the to be replaced because of a broken wifi antenna

I had a Yamaha receiver that went out. I got this one and it does so much more and is easier to run. I just got it hooked up but so far so good.

i am still learning it, what it can do and what it can't do. so far it doing good.

The quality is great however not very user friendly.

I bought this because Yamaha is known for its reliability and I'm tried of amps going bonkers on me. Hard to say as I just bought it but I'm looking forward to a trouble-free experience. What impressed me were the sound processors though! Usually they all feel fake and worse than the original sound track but I actually enjoy some of these for music and for movies, and there are many to choose from.

Not very pleased with this purchase. To date I have not been able to get my Apple 4K TV to play HDR format onto my projector through this Receiver. I have tried advanced settings, changing Mode, etc. but I cannot believe an advertised product with HDR is so difficult to configure. The rest is okay, sounds fine through my Definitive Technology speakers. The HDMI inputs are a bit off too - plugged in DVD and Roku but it does not recognize them.
