Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth capabilities of the AVENTAGE 7.2-Ch. Bluetooth Capable HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate its power and the range of features it offers, finding it to be good value for the price. While some found the setup process somewhat challenging, the positive feedback on other aspects outweighs this concern.

Best buy cannot get it to work with Alexa

I paid Best Buy to get this set up to work with Alexa. They couldn't do it. So while the unit itself works as documented working with Alexa with the primary reason for our upgrade and it still doesn't work correctly. Don't ever pay for Best Buy to install anything. You end up having to redo what they did and do your own research to get it installed correctly.

had to furnish ladders for the installers . speakers not aligned correctly. Installers failed to unpack all parts from amp box. If I had let the installers removed the box's the part would have been lost.

Second Yamaha receiver that wouldn’t work. This one wouldn’t play my DirecTV signal or my BluRay signal at all. Took it back for an Onkyo that works perfectly.

This is my third Yamaha AVR that I have had over the last 15+ years, the other two still work fine, just needed the 4K support. I also have an LG OLED tv that I used to run directly from the DirecTV box, but I was amazed when I saw how much BETTER the signal was when I ran it through the RX780, using some AudioQuest "Chocolate" HDMI cables, the picture looks brighter and clearer with awesome colors! Highly recommended!

Nice unit and sound quality, but it broke in 2 mo.

I purchased a new Yamaha RX-A780 in February and it was great for 2 months. The sound quality was much nicer than other brands I evaluated and it was very easy to use and had all the functionality. However, it stopped working after 2 months of use and it has been in the service center being repaired for nearly 2 months and I am still waiting. If you buy this I would recommend buying the extra warranty that Best Buy sells. Yamaha customer service has been very spotty and their follow through is non existent. I would not recommend buying one of their units without the extra warranty. this is the second Yamaha I have had and they don't seem to be reliable.

So first off I'm going to say I was a big Yamaha receiver fan I own several including one that's 15 years old. Know on to the problem I hook up receiver in my bed room replacing an older model everything was great at first then came the problem out of the blue all the hdmi inputs stopped working I still have output but no input I could see set up menu for the reciver on my TV but no cable or firestick I went through the trouble to try different sources nothing works so I reach out to Yamaha after several attempts to reach them I go to bestbuy explained my situation (mind you the reciver is 3 months old )they say all they could do is try to repair it I'm not happy with that why should I have to wait several weeks for a repair when the unit should still under warranty they explained it was policy but honestly if you just bought something and three months into it it breaks not happy with Yamaha or bestbuy I would not recommend this or any Yamaha products anymore not what the used to be..

2 months old and HDMI 1 Out quit working

I bought this receiver 2 months ago and HDMI 1 out quit working completely. Yamaha customer service is absolutely horrible. I waited on hold for 30min to speak to someone and I got disconnected. Tried the online chat and no one ever responded. Emailed Yamaha customer service and never received a response. Very frustrating considering I spent $650 on this receiver.
