Wonderful upgrade from 5.1 to 7.2 channels. Getting true surround with my 6 Bose cubes, Bose sound bar and Yamaha sub woofer. Disappointed on ATMOS upgrade when added 2 more front speakers. The AVENTAGE a780 can only power up 7 speakers, no options for switching Atmos to Surround Sound on 7 channels. Try to find solutions with no luck. Only to find article on A780 can only power up 7 speakers. (It grey out my left and right rear speakers on panel display). I end up taking back front speakers and factory reset receivers to my satisfaction. Overall happy with True Surround sound and earn my 5 stars rating.

Does a great job managing multiple zones. Love the ability to play the same music not just on the two zones but on the second AVENTAGE receiver that I bought for my basement! The MusiCast app is intuitive and easy to use. The sound is great!

Needed a new receiver as my phono jack on my old one gave out. I love this receiver. easy to set up and navigate, great sound and I love the ease of using the mobile app to control the receiver and stream music over bluetooth.

Really great receiver - easy to set up and sound is fantastic with 7.1 setup. Musiccast is great and I enjoy listening to my Pandora playlists.

Upgraded to this Yamaha from a 5 year old Onkyo. The Onkyo was great but this Yamaha coupled with my Definitive technology speakers was fantastic. Really impressed with sound and clarity. Setup was reasonably simple for an avg user.

I replaced an older Sony to get Atmo support. I had a 7.1 surround setup and used my existing speaker setup to create a 5.1.2 Atmos system. The results are nothing short of spectacular: the sound is great in all the formats I've come across. The only issue I had was with the HDMI ARC from my Smart TV. I couldn't tell if it was the TV or receiver, but I had to fall back to optical from the TV to the receiver. Now that it's all set up the sound from the Smart TV is spectacular (that's how I watch Netflix and they have a number of Atmos movies and shows).

Great sounding unit but setting it up is not easy. The instructions are not really well done but using the app and internet I was able to get it done and the results are fantastic

Purchased Yamaha to replace an old Denon. Was easy to setup and make necessary connections. Back of unit is clearly labeled. Has more features than I need now and still learning how to use them . A unit I can grow into as my current system expands.

The setup was pretty easy. Adding ATMOS set up was significant upgrade. Its sounds great, I used the set-up assistant which was pretty easy and help up balance the system based on my room.

the overall receiver is very good, easy to setup, sounds great.. make sure you get quality speakers so you can hear what this receiver really does.

Powerful enough to drive my speakers (Polk S50) and sub (MTX S2) without issue. Plenty of inputs to meet the needs of most homes with AWESOME sound.

Needed a unit with 2 separate 4k HDMI outputs. Wanted a good mobile app. Wanted easy streaming and internet radio options Happy with this unit. Does all that and a million things that I havent figured out yet. Definitely complex, but most likely if you're looking for all the bells+whistles this has, you probably have an idea how it all works, just need to figure out the menus and buttons. Great for listening Sirius. Im sure it is for Pandora, spodify, tidal, etc. they are all set up in control app. I'm just a Sirius guy. So Sirius.

Very pleased, this is my 4th Yamaha receiver. Had to switch from prior unit to get HDCP 2.2. Without it, did not get proper communication between 4K TV and 4K Blu-Ray player. Plenty of sound for our space. Use with LG 4K Oled TV, Samsung 4K Blu-Ray player, Xbox One X, Apple Airplay and Bowers & Wilkins Sound System. Also use Yamaha AV Controller app on iPhone and iPad.

I love this powerful reciever. It can be easily controlled by an app as well. The sound is highly customizable and it responds quickly with automated features.

This was easy to set up, the sound is fantastic and it has more options than I know what to do with...for now. I would definitely recommend it!

Love this receiver, sounds great and was easy to setup. Works great with my new q90t Samsung Tv. Love the option to AirPlay directly to this.

I purchased my first Yamaha receiver in 2014. This is the upgrade. Love the surround sound and sound options. Great value for the price.
