I found setting up this receiver was extremely easy using the Yamaha AV Setup Guide app on my iPhone. The receiver works extremely well for my setup. I use the second zone for speakers on my patio. That was a feature I wanted when I was looking for receivers. Very nice looking and a great remote add to the experience too.

I have had a couple of lower-end Yamahas, a Denon or two and this unit has been, by far, the most difficult to "get right." I paired this with a brand new Sony 4K and granted, the Sony, in terms of plug and play, is inferior to Samsung. But, I still love the TV. Still though, I experience this receiver changing inputs when a Netflix show ends. It is VERY picky about the input compression, dropping in and out if you have it on "Auto." Lipsync has been a challenge as well. It's fine on cable, but halfway through a streaming movie and the lipsync goes to pot. I know how to adjust that, but having to do it in the middle of a movie is very frustrating. Overall, high marks for sound, but very poor marks for usability.

This is the best audio video receiver we've ever had. And thanks to the superb in home technicians with the Geek Squad, it was ready to go with I minutes of getting everything installed. They did a fantastic job showing us how this works and how to make the best use of it.

My pioneer lx102 had a themo error, decided to get new instead of getting it repaired. Looked at denon and onkyo, the marantz I wanted was not available. Yamaha upon hooking up at home had a much more clear sound on same speakers than the dull sound of the pioneer

Excellent receiver. The Yamaha - Aventage 7.2-Ch exceeds my expectations as it is the centerpiece of my home-theatre equipment. I've refreshed my audio-video equipment after using 15-years of Bose based equipment. Very happy w/ purchase.

Bought this receiver for our surround sound 7.2 system. Works great, however the only problem we have encountered is that it does not have a TV input. The Best Buy geek squad informed us that we would have to get an optical cable for it to put out the sound from just the tv. Other than that, sounds great with our speakers and subwoofer and has Bluetooth capabilities.

Thus far, this has proven to be a good A/V receiver. It has plenty of HDMI inputs, The AM/FM tuner works well, and I like the fact that it will receive Internet radio. I was a little disappointed to learn that I cannot listen to the sound output via Bluetooth, though i can stream audio to it with a Bluetooth headset. Overall, though, it was a good value and seems to be a good receiver.

This receiver has more than enough power for my Bowers & Wilkins 606s, 607s, and 608 sub. The app is somewhat useful but it’s extremely slow and needs a refresh. The main reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the menu layout when not using the app. It’s beyond terrible and looks like something from the 90s.

Bought this receiver to replace a Yamaha RX-V2300 I bought 17 years ago (which still worked perfectly). I couldn’t be more happier. Love the new features and the sound is a huge improvement over my older unit. I hope I get the same usage out of this one.

Had another Yamaha receiver before purchasing this one for 10 years and had no issues so purchased this Yamaha receiver. This new receiver has very crisp clear sound as I can hear the crackling of a campfire and it sounds like I am at the campfire.

sound quality is excellent. I use it for an 8 channel home theater. The only negative I've found is the auto switching to the incoming signal is often delayed and the sound playing is from the wrong source. Overall sound is great, rich and powerful.
