I bought this amplifier few weeks ago. It's had a $200 discount. It was a great buy for the price and also for the amp functions. It's awesome because you can split up your music channel speakers, 5.1 and listen to other music using 2 extra speakers from a different source.

I purchased this receiver to replace a temperamental Harman/Kardon receiver. Unfortunately the Harman/Kardon was just on another level as far as sound quality and power. The user interface on the Yamaha is good, and the AV Controller app from a smartphone or tablet is great, there's a web interface that you can control from any computer on the network too. One other thing to note is that this model will not convert between video sources, or down convert video, for example a Component input cannot be sent to the TV via HDMI and vice versa. A 1080p signal also cannot be converted to a 1080i signal if the TV doesn't support 1080p.

Very nice receiver for the price. All the functionality you would want. Only negative I've found so far is slight difficulty getting zone 2 to work consistently with selected inputs. Would purchase again without a doubt.

The instructions were not correct and are difficult to follow. It took me three days, off and on, to get it up and running correctly. Once working, it's impressive. The wireless feature is great and works like a champ.

I wanna give Yamaha 5 stars if not for their agreement with apple. I own a Samsung Galaxy and cannot connect via bluetooth. Sucks, but I have an allegiance to yamaha and this is an awesome receiver.

Multifunctional, programmable recover. Works great with the Logitech remote control we already had.
