This receiver is better than anything I've ever experienced. Sound, tv, switching, compatibility w other devices. Fantastic.

Great Yamaha receiver - has all the bells and whistles - only negative is that the connections on the back are very close to one another.

I'm moving up from an earlier, non-4k, non-bluetooth model from Yamaha and this newer model meets my expectations. Similar interface, great picture and sound, no issues with connectivity. The menu system could be a little better, but other than that it's a great unit for the price.

I upgraded my pioneer elite vsx80 or something. This one has less power but it is far better. HMDI ports that actually play sound. The eq mic is great. My wife even noticed a huge difference. Have polk rtf 10 and velodyne minivee subs.

The day that I bought this receiver, was the day that I became well educated with entertainment; all thanks to this receivers capability to give me the picture and sounds that is necessary to fill my mind with garbage. Thanks Yamaha!!

The system is easy to set up and sounds great. The Yamaha AV Controller App controls the unit with ease. The only issue we found was the receiver kept dropping off from our wifi and it wouldn't reconnect. Our receiver is located about 50' from our router so I didn't anticipate this problem. Once I hard wired it to the router, all the problems went away.

This receiver is perfect for my Definitive Technology 7.2 setup. It pushes the towers to perfection along with the 2 super cube subs! Blows away my old Integra receiver!

This was recommended online, as well as Best Buy employees. The sound is amazing. I admit I've not set up all the sound fields yet or the microphone to dial-in the best sound for surround speakers, but it's a great receiver!

My Best Buy guy, Osiris recommended this because it supports hdr. Easy to set up. The sound is incredible. I think the neighbors enjoyed hearing Star Trek Into Darkness, lol

I researched several of the major brands before deciding on Yamaha. Then, I went to the store and looked at several models. For my needs, this was gave me the best options for the money. I was so happy with it I bought two.

Bought this to replace a Sony home theater receiver. The sound quality is excellent. It is hooked to a Bose surround sound system that I have had for the better part of 10 years, and I have never heard it sound this good.

I love this unit. I have always been a Sony guy, but I like the options that were available on the Yamaha. It was easy to hook up, and the on screen display makes programming much easier. Great looking LCD display too!

I have owned Yamaha receivers for 30 years and this one is by far the best I have owned. Great sound, lots of inputs and configurations to choose from. It really rocks the house with my Definitive speaker system

Upgrading from a 10 year old Yamaha 5.1 system that didn’t have any HDMI ports. All the online reviews stated this was a great receiver. Can’t wait to set it up and try out the Atmos configurations.

This home theater receiver will likely do what you need it to do. Six HDMI connections accommodate my cable box, BluRay player, xBox 1s and xBox 360 without resorting to hubs. Plenty of other audio and video connection options are available. Easily plays music from my iTunes collection on my PC via AirPlay. Haven't tried to connect and use Spotify, but assume it will work as well. Minor complaint: the "Scene" button for TV defaults to an AV connection, and not to the HDMI to TV connection. Really? In 2017, with a home theater, my guess is that a majority of users hook up via HDMI. Haven't figured out how to reprogram the button yet. Another complaint: no manual. Personally, I HATE scrolling through an online PDF file to find things. A printed manual, please. Charge me ten bucks more. And include one. Major complaint: this is supposed to be an entertainment hub, right? The audio controls are severely limited. I mean, it's a Yamaha and it only has treble, base and a handful of presets. I have an old Yamaha stereo receiver that sounds better than this new device. Disappointing.

Using with Bowers & Wilkins 7-speaker surround system. Crisp sound delivery & no interference when turned way up. Also hooked up Sony Blu-ray, PlayStation & Comcast DVR and there's still room to expand.
