Easy set up and reasonably priced. For the money its a great option.

I haven't delved too far into all the features or anything yet, but i can say overall i'm happy with the sound it's producing and since my sub woofer port went out on my old receive a while back it's nice to have a deep bass and rich sub woofer sound coming out of the receiver again. My only complaint is that the options to control things seems kind of limited. it's like an iphone that they dumbed down, you don't have a lot of choices so far that i've seen to change. My harmon kardon had a lot more possiblities to alter things.

This receiver does everything I wanted and still is easy to control.

The Yamaha Aventage 810 was easy to set up, and all the functions work as advertised. The Audio Return Channel (ARC) makes the setup easier, uses fewer cables, and automates some functionality. My only recommendation is for Yamaha to provide a remote that is easier to read. I switched from a similar Denon product for which the ARC was not working properly.

I bought this after extensive research and reading of owner's reviews. It does everything I wanted with excellence, giving superb audio performance and with great flexibility tom customize to my exact requirements. I have absolutely no hesitation in heartily recommending this superb product from Yamaha.

A friend had told me about this receiver in particular and I decided to give it a try and I really liked it.

Bought this to replace a Sony STR-DN840 which died 6 months after the 2-year warranty expired. Bought the Yamaha brand because the reputation is better and the warranty is longer (3yrs). Set-up was just a little tricky, considering we are not stereophiles. Sound quality seems equal to the Sony. Have not played around with the settings a whole lot. Once it is set to the TV settings we want, we generally leave it alone. We don't listen to a lot of music, occasionally oldies (60s) and have used the Airplay (desktop computer to iPad to receiver). Wish we could plug an iPod directly into the front USB port, as we were able to do with the Sony. The USB in the front of the Yamaha is for a flash drive. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as hard connections are more stable. AirPlay has inexplicably dropped out a couple of times. Plus it is a lot more steps to go through, with AirPlay, than direct connecting an iPod. All our music is on the desktop computer, no music is stored on the iPad, Have had this receiver for a month. It is powering Polk TSx-330T speakers and controlling a Motorola cable box, Samsung LED TV and Sony DVD Blu-Ray CD player. All those items are 2.5yrs old except the Motorola cable box, provided by Verizon. Using a Logitech Harmony remote control to operate all the components.

This is a sold receiver for the price. Like the option of a bonus room to connect.

Purchased Yamaha many years ago and then ventured to Onkyo in 2007 for my home theatre receiver. Needed to upgrade and the new Yamaha unit delivers amazing sound through my older ceiling mounted Bose speakers and Martin Logan subwoofer. Happy camper!!

Just rebuilt the home theatre with an Lg 65" 4K SUHD tv, klipsch speakers, xbox one s and this receiver. Everything works together great and the 4K stuff is spectacular and this receivers drives 9 speakers and two subwoofers with no problem.

Bought this as my first receiver, very easy to adjust and play with the settings. Geek squad programmed my remote to it and everything was easy, fast switching between devices

This receiver is the best one I have ever owned. I had 2 Yamaha receivers in the past and they all worked flawlessly. I also had a Denon and had to have it sent to the factory for repairs so didn't want one of those again.

This receiver has provided better sound for me than the older pioneer model I was using. The second zone allows me to play music outside while watching something else inside also enjoy the Wi-Fi feature too!
