Tried replacing my old Yamaha RX-A 2050 with the new Denon X4400H. While the Denon had some nice features it just didn't have the sound quality of the Yamaha receivers. I returned it and purchased the Yamaha Aventage RX-A 2070. No regrets once so ever.

The A2070 A/V receiver has excellent features, drives powerful, clear sound, is very flexible in speaker configuration and fully integrates to your smart devices. The setup and configuration menus take a little time to master, but once you play with it, you can customize every setting you can think of. I am very happy with this unit and highly recommend it; especially over the A1070 or competitive units. The only reason I did not rate it a 5 is the Yamaha MusicCast app is unreliable. It is frustrating to set up and does not stay connected. If this is corrected, Yamaha will have the best all-around A/V solution out there.

I needed to replace my old Yamaha AV receiver due to a lighting strike. The new Yamaha AVENTAGE 9.2-Ch receiver was my choice because it does everything anyone should need and then some. The on line reviews of the AVENTAGE receivers was very positive and I have been a Yamaha fan for years. This new receiver allows me to bring all of my HD video signals together in one place and the built in WiFi and Blue Tooth are a great resource for listing to music and pushing the content to other rooms. I have a lot to learn as this receiver offers many options in terms of mulit-zone capabilites that allow me to have different content in different areas of the house, or in my case out on the patio. Right out of the box this receiver sounds awesome and I am just getting started

Quality construction, looks great, sounds great and was easy to set up, what more can you ask for. SCENE is a nice feature, press one button and go to a favoite, i.e. Sirius, Pandora, TV, CD etc.

It’s pricey (I got a discounted open box though) but worth it. I bought this to replace my second failing (un-named, starts with D) home theater receiver. This one was perfect out of the box. I used the easy auto set up. Took me about an hour to re-wire from old receiver and all other existing audio/Home theater components. I have a pretty basic 5.1 system (so I’m not using this to its full potential), plus a 2 channel, 2nd zone for the backyard pool/patio area. My old receiver required the use of an amp to power the 2nd zone-this one doesn’t, so now I have more space on the shelf. It has WiFi, but I’m connected with hard wire. The Bluetooth/wireless connection to my iPhone or MacBook is consistent. Sounds great. The only downside so far is that I can’t figure out how to make the inside have surround from the tv while playing music outside. I’m sure it’s something simple I’m missing. I would recommend.

I had a Denon that I took back for the Yamaha. The Yamaha has a better phone app and also sounds WAY BETTER.

This was my first "high end" receiver. I absolutely love it! Wired up for Dolby Atmos 7.2.1. The sound is crystal clear and much better than my previous receiver. You can't go wrong with Yamaha.

Had all the features I wanted. Fantastic sound! Great way to add Atmos speakers to an existing 7.1 setup.

There's not much to say about this other than it produced a truly amazing home theater experience. Like any receiver of this price and quality, it takes some patience to navigate the manual and get everything set up to your liking. However, when you do, you're rewarded with a rich sound and fantastic set up. My speakers are set up as 5.1.4, and I can't wait for more Atmos encoded movies to come out.

We are very happy with this receiver. Once it was up and running we were very impressed. We are rookies at this and it took about 3 days to figure out how to set things up and we did connect better speaker wire so that took some time. Well worth the effort. My husband says this sounds better than the movie theatre.

One of the best options for 5.1.4 Atmos. Still waiting for Dolby Vision pass-through update.

My old Denon unit finally went out. Found this on a price match special buy. Great unit with enough power to fill my room. Running two zones. The remote could be better but that is not that big of deal to me.

With an ever-growing collection of dead receivers including Pioneer, Denon, Onkyo, and most recently Integra, I went searching for new receiver. I scoured reviews and initially purchased a Marantz. I spent a day and a half trying to get this to function, however portions of it did not work out of the box. Further into the reviews and I brought home the Yamaha. Very quickly after installation, it was working, the room calibrated, and I enjoyed watching movies. I needed a full nine channels for the speakers in my theater. This unit drives them to high volumes without distortion with ease.

I love this receiver!!! I love the warm sound of Yamaha receivers.... this is my third one. Tried a different brand once and couldn’t quite dial it in.

Replaced an older Denon receiver. The temperature difference is startling and the quality is incredible. Well worth the upgrade.

Solid power to drive speakers, plenty of 4k inputs. Plenty of features without getting overwhelmed.
