The Bose Wave Radio is $599. This baby was $279. That's less than half the price. And the sound is a perfect amount of lows, mids, and highs. Reception really depends on your location and other factors, but with IHeart Radio and all the other ways to connect these days, that's not a huge issue. Both music and talk radio sound superb. I put mine on a little shelf in my dining area and man does that white & black pop! So many of the shelf radios out there looked like something outta Star Wars. I posted a couple pics so you can see how good it looks. My only complaint is that they don't stock these in the stores. They certainly should be. Yamaha hit a grand slam with this one. I'm a retired guy, so I'll get my use out of this baby...

I bought this to replace an old boom box in my bathroom that didn't have a way to hook up my iPhone. It works great on bluetooth and has a usb that will keep it charged. It wont play through the usb but between the bluetooth and aux ports that doesn't matter. It sounds very good with alot of bass for such a small shelf system. AM/fm is great too.

The sound quality and ease of operation of this unit couldn't be better. I would only make two very small changes. The first would be some type of latch that would allow you to move the receiver and speakers as a unit. The other would be a Bluetooth transmitter that would allow me to use it with wireless Bluetooth headphones.

I tried and tried to get a CD player that was solid; had good sound; did not look like a jet dashboard; and that worked and looked like it might last more than 6 months. EUREKA I found it. This Yamaha is great. I wish it also had cassette player but it does not. I would have paid an extra $100 for that. But it looks great, sounds great, easy to operate and is solid. No cheap plastic that bends and warps.

We purchased this to fit on a shelf in our garage. It has nice sound for a compact stereo. I like that it has a remote and can also work with Bluetooth.

It has a great sound. It connects to my Ipod and it has a place to play my cds . Just the right size for my space and it looks like good quality.

Bought this because we wanted to downsize from a large surround sound system. It has a CD player, it has mp3 and usb player capabilities. Though there are 2 wired speakers, it does have bluetooth for listening to other sources as well. I retuned it however because I wanted a little more powerful unit due to the fact that I like to listen to my music a little louder than this is capable of producing. It has 15 wats per channel at 4 ohms. Perfect for room or small space or apartment.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my mother. I needed to find something that sounded decent and fit into a limited area and this system was perfect. This unit has a cd player, a usb port, radio and is Bluetooth compatible. The sound is good for such a small system and mom loved that I could get it in white. One thing that I didn't like is that the speaker wires supplied did not have connectors (you have to push the bare wires into a spring clip - the wires did at least come pre-stripped). Overall, I think it's an excellent compact system for the price.

This little Yamaha shelf stero is roughly the size of the Bose Wave, but with separated speakers. It has some clever add-ons like Bluetooth, though lacks multi CD player which was something I looked for. I settled on this one after reading other reviews and I'm very happy I did! It has great sound!

We have dvd access, am fm radio, and bluetooth! We wanted something smaller that had all that...and this was it. We chose white as it looks bright and cheery in our kitchen. The sound is just as good as a BOSE> My friend is jealous... we play soft background music in our kitchen

I was looking for a small but great sounding audio system for my den and definitely found it in this Yamaha unit. Fits perfectly with the decor and sounds great. Simple to set up, easy to use, great remote, CD, etc., what more could you ask for in a small space.

I bought this model for my home office. It was easy to set up and is easy to use. The hardware is solid and the quality of the sound is good. Definitely worth the money.

I am totally pleased with this Yamaha Micro Component System. It is very stylish and of really high quality. The audio reproduction of a CD is just incredible. The best part is that you can control treble, bass, and middle to your preference. This is why I prefer this system to a Bose CD Wave radio. You cannot control the treble or bass on that system, and this is a huge drawback for me even though it is a high quality product. I have not tried the Bluetooth connection, but it is something available on this system. I wish that Yamaha made a 2020 version of this system because it is one of the best that I have heard in terms of the quality and detail of the audio reproduction.

The radio and cd player sound great with the dual 2-way speakers. The instructions for setting the system up were easy to follow.

This mini stereo offers a well rounded, robust sound quality. I love the Bluetooth feature and the others!

I’m very happy with the sound quality for the price. I haven’t tried the radio yet, but as far as CD’s go, they sound really good! I bought this for my bedroom and it has been living up to all my expectations. I was surprised to see that the display not only has the time, it also displays the day and date. I also like that the display offers 3 different brightness levels, I don’t like anymore light than absolutely neccessary when it comes to sleeping. Overall, I would reccommend this unit to anyone who wants good sound quality in a small package!

Purchased this unit to replace a similar type component system, that was produced by a company I was not previously familiar with, which proved to be erratic and unreliable during CD play. Now have a better quality system and in a color that matches the décor of the room it is now displayed.

I bought this to replace an older system in my cabin. I already had speaker wires in the wall so hooking up this system was easy. FM comes in great, CD works excellent and my favorite has been using an old MP3 player in random mode ( controlled by system remote)!Sound is excellent with surprising bass response. definitely worth the money.

I needed a new sound system that was compact but had all my required features. It plays CD’s & has FM radio. The sound is great & loud enough for me. I’m happy with my purchase.

3 stars as it was a great stereo while it lasted. Awesome sound and all the features were excellent. 2 times had issues with the CD player as wouldn't play right and recently can't eject a CD
