The system was purchased to replace an older stereo that provided music for a 500 square foot room. Yamaha MCR-B043BL micro component system is exactly what was needed. The USB port, Bluetooth and aux. connection feature all essential upgrades.

BEST STEREO I HAVE EVER OWNED!

I have not bought a stereo in quite a while. I had a pretty good Sony stereo, but the speakers were too large to place where I wanted so needed something a bit smaller. I received a stereo through work. It was decent. However, the CD door slid up and down and did not open all the way so I was afraid I would scratch my CDs. I took a chance on this after reading other reviews, and I am so glad I did. What everyone says is so true. The sound is excellent, nice blend of treble and bass. I do tend to like a lot of base, and it has met my standard with a beautiful treble as well. I also like how the CD is so easy to insert, just like my car CD player. I love its appearance as well. I ordered the white with black, and it is as beautiful as a stereo can get. I have not tried the radio yet so cannot comment on that, but the main reason I bought it was for the CD player. The remote control is also awesome. I highly recommend. As an added bonus, shipping was also super fast and came way before the estimated date. I was so excited to try it out so was glad it did.

Good Unit. Tricky Way to Get FM Stereo.

Wanted a small system for the back porch. This sounded good, so I bought it. Set up is easy. Easy to understand instructions. Hooked up everything and turned it on. Went to program the presets for AM and FM. You WILL need to hook up the antennas for this. No internal reception at all. Went through the stations and set the presets. Then ran through the stations. Only the first preset was stereo. All the rest were mono, despite my living maybe two miles as the crow flies from the Phoenix antennas. Drove me nuts. Tried moving the unit from the back of the house to the front. No dice. Finally, as I set down to write a scathing review, I tried letting the unit auto-program the presets. Viola! Stereo EVERYWHERE. For some reason, if you manually change the station, you get mono. Don't ask me why. Apparently, that's true of the presets as well. You just have to delete the ones you don't want later. As I wrote before, unit looks nice, sounds nice. Easy to use. But that preset - manual tune thing is a head-scratcher.

    Awesome little Unit

Just got this little unit today and it sure sounds good. The bass and treble are just right on it and the unit does not sound tinty. The only problem is that the wire for the speakers are short which the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I had some speaker wire and extended the length of the speaker wire that comes with the unit so I can place the speakers farther apart. If I had to purchase a CD/FM Radio unit again I would choose this one again.

When I got this system home and unpacked it I was very impressed with the quality of the materials and workmanship. Once I got it hooked up and playing I was even more impressed with the sound and the FM reception from the included antenna (AM not so much). When I loaded a CD I realized I had purchased a great system. The included remote is simple and easy to use. I am hard to impress but this is a really nice FM/CD system. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I have a small apartment and been without a stereo for over a year! Needed something within a good price range but has good sound to it. I haven't heard of Yamaha for a while and searched bestbuy and found this one, read the reviews and decided to take a chance. Didn't think from the small size that it would sound as good as it did and was totally amazed! I would really recommend this stereo if you are on a budget and still get great sound

Specifications say it has Wi-Fi; it doesn’t.

This may be a fine shelf unit but I bought this model because the online specs said it had built in WiFi. It only has Bluetooth. Now I need to stream music thru another device before I can push it thru the shelf stereo via BlueTooth or usb cable.
