Nice unit but the front speaker minimum impedance is 6 ohms. Plus if you want to bi-amps your front speakers, again the minimum impedance it can handle is 6 ohms. However, with my SONY Bravia TV, and unlike both Denon and Okyo units (apparently both owned by the same company), the receiver does not always turn on when you turn on the TV. That feature can drive you nuts!!!

Very easy to set up. Love the Music Cast app and features. Great sound and easy to operate. Connected to my TV using the ARC connection making it controllable through my TV remote

Audio files, love Yamaha for receivers. I’m not that and I was concerned that this receiver with only 80 W per channel would be enough power for my Klipsch speakers but it’s amazing that I can’t even turn the sound all the way up to zero DB because it’s too loud. And the music cast app works great and is exactly what I was looking for in a competitor to Sonos.

This receiver was so easy to setup. It recognized my other connections with-out any extra steps. Also, the sound selections are great. Would recommend this receiver to anyone in need of an upgrade.

Having owned this received for a little over 2 weeks, I have mixed reviews. I have owned a previous Yamaha receiver; I am very familiar with the brand. The set-up process was relatively easy. It’s very minimalist. Most of the functions need to be done using the remote. The screen display is very small. No possibility to adjust the bass and treble from the receiver. Other than that, I am still getting familiar with the different features. I wish there was a YouTube video, to make it more user friendly.
Now I would suggest purchasing the receiver from a different vender than Best Buy. They only have 15 days to return, which I wasn’t aware of. This receiver is a replacement to a similar one. The power wouldn’t turn on, so I had to return it. If I decided to go with a different receiver, Best buy would’ve charged a restocking fee. No a great way to keep customers happy.

I set up a 5.2 channel system with this home theater receiver. Main drivers are R- 51Ms, so definitely nothing too power hungry. I never have any background hum and thats really all I ask for. The filters are kinda gimmicky, some just add massive reverb, some feel muffled so i just keep it on 2 channel stereo for music, or all channel surround for movies. But generally speaking if all you need is a modest 5 channel system, this will certainly get the job done. Also, it seems to have a pass through feature when using HDMI from a device like an Xbox, if the amp is off it will pass over the audio to the TV. Surprisingly useful feature if you've got sleeping roommates.

Great product!! I bought this receiver to upgrade my old Yamaha one as I wanted a receiver that fits with 8k TV’s and systems that use hdmi 2.1 cables. I love my new receiver!! Connects the internet for you to stream all of your favorite music along with giving great audio to all of your favorite movies and shows
