The sound quality is excellent. Connectivity and ease of use are first rate.
Easy Set up, sounds great.. Only gripe is there are not any inputs listed on the remote for DVD, Game, Cable etc. You have to scroll thru the input selector until the divice you want comes up on-screen

A bit complicated to learn how to use. I wish it had a better manual. Despite that, I love it.
This review is from Yamaha - RX-V6A 7.2-channel AV Receiver with 8K HDMI and MusicCast - Black

Awesome receiver..the sound is amazing. A tad hard to control using the buttons on the receiver, otherwise it is an amazing piece of tech. Highly recommend.

This product is great! I arrived at the Best Buy at the Southpoint location area. Just looking. I was in the market at that time for a receiver, however wasn't looking to do it before Christmas. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful. He didn't speak to me like he was selling to an inexperienced female shopper. He gave me all the respect. I purchase from that location because it was user friendly clean and respectful. I even opened a credit card. Excellent experience. I will be visiting again soon.

I was expecting to pay a certain amount for a new receiver, but it had been a long time since I purchased one. I was very happy with the man who spent about 45 minutes with me explaining the newest features. I ended up paying a bit more, but wow what a system I have now. I'll be back to buy home speakers for my living room, as I love music. Very impressive employees.

Easy to setup , great sound when paired with klipsch speakers, only thing is if you have ps5 or series x this does not have VRR , 120hz, etc yet but will in a future update so use earc in meantime and connect to your display until this feature goes live.

The receiver is great. It performs like it’s supposed to. Easy setup by following the quick guide. Fine tuning took more time. There wasn’t an enclosed manual, you have to download. The manual is not the easiest to follow.

It is a powerful and full featured audio receiver, and I tried to give it the proper time to get over bugs and issues I was having. But nothing would fix or paper over the hdmi 2.1 bugs and audio issues stemming from the lack of bandwidth on any of the ports. I even made sure to get the manufactured after september date model and it still had the same bandwidth limiting features. My results were the same as anykne else trying new formats such as 4k 120, VRR, Atmos, and 8k 60. There were direct communications that these issues would be fixed via future firmware updates but the problem lies in the hardware, not the sotfware. It simply cannot do 4k 120 with any premium sound or Dolby Vision. It does do 4k 60 perfectly fine, as well as premium audio formats such as DTS:X and Atmos. Unfortunately, the money sunk does not give you all the advertised options, and waiting for firmware updates to fix hardware problems will be a dead end. The advice I have is just what everyone else has done at this point....wait. either buy an Onkyo TX RZ50 (available from best buy as well, just never in stock) or lower your expectations for your high-end setup. I have zero complaints with the audio processing and power to play my 7.2 system.

This system is a huge upgrade in comparison to my old RCA unit from 20 years ago. My one gripe about it is that it does not consistently auto-detect the input, and this can be annoying. The one big plus I have found is being able to plug a bunch of HDMI inputs. As my unit is in a closet, I can't see the input on the screen, but the downloadable app easily displays the input and allows me to switch input in case it does not autodetect. This is a great convenience. One other issue is that playing a move on a console tends to cause a black screen when it changes resolution, and this is another annoyance. Perhaps this will get fixed with a firmware update. Nevertheless, I am pleased.

Overall, this is a good receiver. It's not hard to set up and it sounds good. It does take surprisingly long to switch between inputs, but it's tolerable. My biggest problem with it is that the 120hz compatibility for consoles doesn't seem to work right. I cannot get anything past 60hz unless I hook the console directly to my TV and then have the audio passed back to the receiver. This was not seemingly fully known until after these receivers were out in the wild and it's due to a chipset bug that's not unique to their product. When this product was initially launched, 120hz was not listed anywhere as a "future update". Now it is. What has been frustrating is that getting news when this is going to be fixed is very difficult. Yamaha's website now says these things (and more, like HDR10) will be added in a future update. But when? This is something that has been known since at least November 2020 when the PS5 and XSX launched and here I am writing this in March 2021. I'm very frustrated by the idea that I'm just supposed to perpetually wait for advertised features well after a timeframe when I could have returned the product. I hope it is finally updated soon.

1. To make subwoofer output low frequecy sound all the time, you need to: a). Make sure subwoofer volume in the level setting is not negative; b). Set all speakers to small and set all crossovers to 120HZ 2. HDMI. a). Use only Premium High Speed and up for 4K 60 HZ contents b). Use ultra High Speed for 4K 120 HZ and 8K contents. A lot of HDMI on amazon are not certified. Get the certified HDMI cables to justify the amount you invested in your system. For example I switched to Rocketfish (from Best Buy), my images are sharper, fuller, and 4K 60HZ gaming is flawless. Can't speak for 4K120HZ as I found my Xbox One X sufficient. But the HDMI 1-4 chipsets have been upgraded since the disastrous issues since it published (you can find the mentionings in almost all old reviews)

This Yamaha RX-V6A receiver is exceptional regarding sound quality and has enough power to push high end tower, large center and large surround speakers. The receiver has exceeded all expections.

Fantastic! Sounds great. Works excellent with new Sony TV. I love that I can use TV remote to change volume. Replaced a 5 year old pioneer Elite receiver and this Yamaha blows that away! The sound is way better. Easier to set up and I can listen to tuner and still have the TV on. Couldn’t happier with my choice.

Easy to set up. Lots of features. The app works great. The whole reason we chose this was for Spotify connect (Sony does not have) but I may now turn into a Yamaha fan.

This AVR has been fantastic. No HDMI issues, sound is great and the setup and adjustments are plentiful. Power is enough for my 5.1 system using 8ohm speakers, paired with 4 KEF Q150s and a center channel definite tech along with a cheap 120 watt sub from dayton.
