Customers recognize the engaging gameplay, lovable Yo-kai, and great story as significant strengths of the Pre-Owned Yo-kai Watch. The unique battle system and charming humor also receive positive feedback, with many citing the game's entertainment value and fun factor. Some players find the Yo-kai catching mechanic challenging, however. Overall, the game is praised for its immersive world and enjoyable side quests.

To be honest I cannot review the game myself, as I have not played it. But my 12-year-old son, a fan of the Pokemon games, has very much enjoyed Yo-kai Watch. Some people at my office also play it and enjoy it a lot. It gets 5 stars as a succesful gift for my son.

Great story, art, and cuteness, BuT:
1. Even with a map you still get lost. The map illustrations are small and without words makes it even harder to read the map, unless you have great memorization
2. Less control over attacks and strategies. Your more in control of the flow and aoe (area of effect)
3.catching is random, yea and it's not the fun way :[
I slowly lost interest, but if u are not picky about rpgs and want to follow a great story then definitely play this.
Heard the 2nd game worked on many improvements, and the show is cute too

A fun RPG for the 3ds. The game focuses on catching Yo-Kai and helping to solve the problems caused by mischievous Yo-Kai. Combat is played through mini games and resources management. Would recommend for fans of games like pokemon.

While I can see all the comparisons to Pokemon, once you start playing you'll realize its not some "knock off". It's fun, quirky, and engaging. I hope this game gets a lot more attention so the second one comes to the states.

This is a good game but sometimes the gameplay feels repetitive. You fight yokai, do quests, rinse and repeat. There isn't a whole lot of variety when playing this game. But the games does have some quirky humor and tackles some surprisingly dark subject matter at times.

Yokai watch had a good storyline, but the battles were bland in a way. It's definitely great for children who are beginners with video games but not that entertaining for those looking for a challenge

Going into this game, I had decently high expectations due to its popularity in Japan, and upon playing it I haven't been let down. The whole presentation of this game is executed perfectly .

I enjoyed playing this for a little while and do not regret the purchase, but I was definitely not the target demographic for the game. If you are a younger kid who likes pokemon style games with a "monster" twist, give it a try.

My 6 year old has been playing this for a few weeks and has enjoyed it. It hasn't kept his attention the way I thought it would but he also got Mario and Luigi Paper Jam around the same time and that game has been his focus.

I've always loved Pokemon from the beginning and Yo-Kai Watch is loosely like it, but much funnier and a much newer feel especially being on the 3DS! Highly reccomend

Yo-kai Watch is a great update to the catch-and-befriend-monsters formula. The writing has tons of character and great humor and the art style is fantastic. If you like Pokemon, you'll like this game.

This game stands by it's own merits amd shouldn't be compared to pokemon at all. I really enjoyed this game and took it for what it was which was an awesome ride.

It is a Pokemon/Digimon type of game. It is a popular anime in Japan, and has three games. This is the first game that has been localized for the West. With all of that said, how is the game? The music is cute, with cutscenes weaved into the game through side quests. There are lots of Yokai to collect, but suffer from the pokemon naming effect (i.e. Hoot-hoot.) The game itself is short. If you aren't doing every side quest and collecting every Yokai, you'll be done well under 20 hours. Would I recommend the game? Yes, just don't expect Pokemon levels of content.

While this game shares some similarities with pokemon, namely the catching weird little monsters aspect, the quests and battle style set it apart as a completely different franchise.

I really don't know much about the game except that my daughter plays it all the time. From what she's told me it's kind of like Pokemon.

This is a fantastic game for any Pokemon fan! The game play is similar while being unique enough that it feels like a new game, not just a rehash clone of the core mechanics of Pokemon. My two young sons both love the game so it is well worth the purchase for children (as long as the child has basic reading skills, around second grade level).
