This is my first big professional type quadcopter. After many reviews I went yuneec because of all the positive comments on the customer service. Also for the ease of flying the Typhoon. To me it's easier than flying the little more toy type ones. The smooth pans you can get with this quad is very nice. Only complaint I have is that you can't control the gopro from the ST10+ (controller) such pushing g start and stop to record video and take photos. I wish yuneec would make an interfacing cable for that. Only reason I gave it 4 stars. Other than great quadcopter and user friendly.

It was nice to get this drone with $400 off. Flies pretty good and the "follow me" and "home" (for landing) options are really cool.
Now, since I have the GoPro Hero4, it made sense to get the Typhoon G.
Unfortunately (as some have already point it) the "picture" and "video" capture buttons are not compatible with the GoPro (you can still watch video thru the controller)
I contacted Yuneec for this problem, thinking the controller was defective, but they confirm that this options are not available since they "don't have the permission from GoPro to use their software"
In order to record, you need to start recording before taking off.
Another option for you is set your camera to record video and pictures at the same time before flying.
Beside this hiccup, everything else works great and the drone overall is pretty easy to maneuver

The Q500 4k is a great quad. Easy to fly, Gps works great. Really and truly you can fly right out of the box. Customer service at yuneec is excellent. Just remember the quad is bigger than the Phantom but no updating, quad or batteries. If you are looking for a Camera bird..this is the one for you. The 4k camera is really, really great.

I bought this from Best Buy this week ... and man is this thing awesome! Unlike some other reviewers, I don't have an issue having to start/stop the GoPro "by hand" or disassembling the gimbal a bit in order to get to the video - not big deal. In fact, if you sync the GoPro to your phone OR the GoPro remote, at certain distances you could take snaps, start/stop video etc.
Overall: Excellent Buy - especially at $499.
I did notice that at times my video had a bit of propeller or of the drone feet in the shot, but this was mostly due to the drone compensating for maneuvering or dealing with wind - which it does so amazing.
I didn't notice any "slow" gimbal moving as some have described, this is also my first drone but the gimbal has moved as I would expect it to. With clear line of sight I've probably gotten close to 3-3500 feet on the video transmission - then again where I live there's very little obstacles.
If you're looking for a drone and already have a GoPro look no further, you won't be disappointed.
Pros:
- Great Price
- Can Use Your GoPro
- It's all plastic but it feels sturdy
- Intuitive controller - I just picked it up and went with it ... Especially if you've used other RC's
- Good Gimbal!
Cons:
- Can't find one yet!

I bought this drone thinking that I would be able have some fun in a new hobby to find out that the battery for the controller is dead and would not take a charge. My brother has the 4k version so I thought that I could spend some time learning to fly a drone. The battery from his controller works in my controller so a dead battery. Went to Hobby Town to order a new battery and have to wait to be able to find out if I picked up a good buy for a drone that is on clearance. Now I just have to register the drone before I fly it anyways.

What is the point if you can not control the camera recording and taking pictures from the controller. It makes no sense.
