    Good mid experience level hexacopter

As one of that obtained the H is the first delivery shipment my experience with it thus far is only slightly less than those that were provided pre-release version of the product. As a qualifier I am relatively high in multirotor experience but still read all the directions that are provided with any new product purchase. With one minor exception of a need to re-calibrate the transmitter my H has performed exactly as I hoped it would. Flight time and ease of operation has been very good. The camera is not up to 20+mpxl DLSR standards but for the price of the H, which falls below that of just a camera body and lens, it should not be expected to provide that level of imagery. The camera is simple to use and once learned will provide exceptional videos and still photos to share with friends and family. The user has many frames rates available in the 1080 settings and two for the 4k settings. From a professional perspective the camera quality is more than acceptable for various types of inspection work provided the operator skill level is at least equal to the camera. I've got well over 70 flights on mine and still quite pleased with it.

Great hexacopter with great images. Easy to fly

This is my second UAV. The first was the Typhoon 4K. I love the images I get from both units. What I found most appealing was that these come ready to fly. All other drones I considered required me to attach my own tablet or smartphone to the controller. I don't want to invest in a tablet or commit my phone. This new Hex comes with a large Android display on the controller. I also like that I can run a direct feed from my controller to another monitor via an HDMI cable.

4.999 STARS!!! I love my Typhoon H. Didn't love it the first day. By the 3rd day I was hooked. It has six blades so if one has an issue the UAV will land. The ST16 controller adds to the flying experience. I didn't like it at first but love it now. The pan feature is the winning point. You can hover the drone and pan the camera as opposed to yawing the drone. The battery time was around 17 minutes. The low battery warning and critical/landing low battery are spaced too closely. The first warning is followed quickly by the second. The timing might be adjustable. I didn't see a return to home altitude setting, just a notation that if under 33 feet it will rise to that altitude and if over 33 feet will remain there for the return flight. The return to home feature worked great. The range seemed to be no greater than 1000 feet. At 800-1000 feet I lost signal every single time and would hit the return to home feature. I flew near metal and had RFI. The drone flew sideways at max speed in uncontrolled flight. It went left, and then right. I hit the RTH and saw it rise. It then flew left then right at max speed and smacked into the side of a concrete bridge. Two legs broke and the camera took a rattle but it might be repairable. Be extremely cautious around metal, power lines or anything that introduces RFI. I think my flyaway was environmental but wonder if a compass calibration would have help. The curved cable cam feature is excellent and can be used for waypoints and mapping. The Phantom 4 is easier to fly, however the Yuneec feels more like piloting. You have to raise the landing gear, manually set obstacle avoidance (or leave it off), you can increase or decrease input response (turtle or rabbit mode). In all I prefer the Typhoon H over the P4, except for the range issue.

    Yuneec Typhoon H Pro

i have had this drone for about 3 months now..and love it..i did a lot of research on drones and i have an extensive back ground in R/C,with that being said i have looked at pretty much all the big name brands and some of the not so name brands and after working on a drone for a friend and seeing how there was no customer support or parts support for that matter i chose Yuneec. price was not really a factor as i know you get what you pay for and like i said as of being and avid R/C hobbit for 30 yrs and to have parts availability and customer support are the 2 most important things i look for, as for as the aircraft, does exactly what you tell it to do and takes awesome vid and pics...thanks again Yuneec for a quality product and people who stand behind them!!

A great mid-level Unmanned Aircraft System

I have an older Phantom 2 Vision +, a 3DR Solo and the Yuneec Typhoon H and I must say that the Typhoon H is by far the best of the bunch for features and safety. The redundancy of motors from being a hexacopter allows for a higher margin of safety in the event that a motor fails and not resulting in it falling from the sky. Some of the best features are the integrated tablet so you don't have to use and run down your phone battery. The various camera features are: journey mode, curved cable cam, point of interest, and just recently added through a firmware update, panorama, time lapse and burst modes, raw and jpg files and various metering modes. As with all new technologies, there have been some minor glitches, but Yuneec has been good about firmware updates and customer support. I researched various systems for a couple months and was down to the DJI Inspire and the Yuneec Typhoon H, but decided to go with Yuneec for two primary reasons, 1) the reported poor customer service issues with DJI and their data sharing policy, versus the good customer service that Yuneec has shown; and 2) the integrated tablet in the ST16 controller that the Yuneec has. I didn't want to have to purchase another iPad that would be dedicated to the system. So far, I have been very impressed with the overall quality of the system and camera. I would highly recommend the Typhoon H for the hobbyist flyer, or the Part 107 holder for commercial aerial applications.

    Great Product

I purchased my Typhoon here in June this year. Like anything else, it takes some getting use to from flying RC for 25+ years. Yuneec has some great concepts with this copter. I am impressed with the ST16 controller with the built in 7" android tablet/live viewing screen. You can surf the internet if you chose to with any available wi fi connection. There have been more and more bells and whistles added with each firmware update. Too many to list and I am sure that will continue. The downside to this product is there are currently no mapping programs compatible with Typhoon. Yuneec needs to get into gear and offer the ability for the Typhoon to be compatible with major software companies to use their drone based mapping apps. Or, offer their own versions of such products. Unless this changes, I will need to purchase a different brand that is compatible and can preform mapping. There have been some issues with the camera on my H that are in for repairs currently and minor issues with the controller, also in for repairs. For the hobbyist/videographer minded individual, this is a great product and will serve you well but falls just short on a professional use level and that is primarily due to its' inability to preform mapping tasks. I really hope that changes.

I was so excited when I saw this on CES. Couldn't wait to get it. Finally got it shipped by a BestBuy and couldn't be happier with it. Bet drone on the market. I had the DJI Phantom 3 and that was a great drone but the design and the controller on the Typhoon H is much better

I have so enjoyed flying this drone and have really enjoyed the awesome pictures and video. The customer support is awesome and was a driving factor for me choosing the Typhoon H over the Phantom 4. The only downfall of this drone is the mapping capability and not being able to use google maps to pre-program the flights.

Awesome Video/Pictures, No 3rd Party Apps

    Posted .

Just upgraded from the Q500 4k from Yuneec. This drone is a beast, especially for the price you pay for it;. DJI P4 is $1399 whereas this drone MSRP is $1299. There are many flight modes to work with, the props go on with a snap, and the controller is massive and easy to see. One down side is there are not any 3rd party app options. The controller/tablet runs off Android, but unfortunately doesn't support things like Pix4d or DroneDeploy. I am hoping to use this drone for mapping coastal erosion, but with no compatibility I will have to go into the EXIF and manually take out telemetry to keep as data to process with each picture. I keep reading that there will hopefully be an update to allow mapping, but it has been months.

    First drone

The yuneec Typhoon H was my first drone. Since then I have owned a phantom 4 also, but the typhoon H out performs the phantom 4 on every level. The st16 ground station makes all the difference for me, it allows me to control everything from an integrated platform. I love this drone and have personally flown it home with 5 rotors working when I had a user error and almost wrecked into a tree, but was able to fly home and land safely! That is invaluable.

I have had my Typhoon H every since they were pre orders I was one of the first to pre order the drone and one of the first to get mine. It been a very fun hexcopter and it's reliable. If I could do it again I would get the Typhoon H with RealSense and have those extra capacity as well.

I am one of the first to receive my Typhoon H on May 15, 2016. Since I charged the batteries I have really enjoyed flying my TH. It has really exceeded my expectations. This is my second Yuneec product. I will and do recommend the TH to anyone who is interested in a camera drone. Dragonflyerthom

After owning a number of other 'drones' of various shapes, sizes and configurations, I can say without hesitation that this bird is my favorite! Especially with the recently added panorama and other camera features, this kit makes for an awesome 'pro-sumer' aerial photography option!

Do not buy a YUNEEC PRODUCT

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Yuneec used to be a reputable company but that is no longer the case. I bought a Typhoon H and sent it in for service after a hard landing. Yuneec does not service their own product and used United Radio to service all of their drones contracts. They stopped servicing and sent to KAV industries without me knowing. KAV has now gone out of business and they have my drone apparently. YUNEEC told me, THEY WERE SORRY TO HEAR THAT AND GOOD LUCK. I am now without a drone and vested over $1800 in batteries, cases and auxiliary equipment I cannot use without my unit. Absolutely unacceptable.
