Zagg privacy screen protector is my preferred screen protector. The privacy filter not only protects from prying eyes, it dims the brightness of the screen light. This is my go to screen protector for every iPhone I purchased.

The privacy screen might be great for some, but unfortunately not for me. I couldn’t see the phone and had to bring brightness to highest level just so I could see it. I had to switch it to a normal one.

The screen protector already has a spider web crack in the corner.

Screen Protector Cracked a couple of days after install. The phone wasn’t even dropped. I laid it face down on my night stand and it cracked. I honestly don’t know or see how it could have cracked but it did. To add insult to injury, the very next day it cracked at the top right corner of the screen. Very perplexing because I NEVER dropped my phone. I also had a iPhone cover installed as well.

Looking through my receipts, I have been using Zagg screen protectors since at least 2018. In that time, I never had one peel off, crack, scratch, or allow the screen to be damaged in any way despite me dropping my phones more than once onto solid concrete from a standing height. I am not going to purposely drop test this newest model to see if it is just as good, but I definitely have faith in the Zagg products. I always pair these screen protectors with a ruggedized case, and I have never had a smartphone break. Of course, I try to be careful with my expensive phones. Based on prior reviews of the privacy screen protectors, I was nervous trying this one out. In the past, I have seen the screens appear to be pixilated and dark. I am thrilled to say that this new model does not cause any pixilation, nor does it make the screen really dark. I do have to turn up the screen brightness to match what a transparent protector would, but my phone and battery are working perfectly with the privacy screen protector. The application process could not be any easier. Simply be sure the screen is 100% clean using the included cleaning supplies, place the phone in the included holder, pull the tab, apply pressure for a few seconds, and the process is done! I have noticed that the perimeter of the protector is not yet perfectly adhered to the screen. My guess is that this will improve with time. It might happen with all of the protectors, but it is a little more obvious since this one is black and can show more detail. There are only two negative details about this screen protector compared to the clear protectors. First, if you do not look directly at the phone, you cannot see anything on the screen (which is the intended purpose), but it is a little annoying when my phone is sitting flat on my desk and I get a notification. I can’t just glance over to see what the notification is without looking at the screen at the proper angle. Second, the black privacy protector shows fingerprints more than the transparent protector. However, I wipe it on my shirt or any smooth cloth and the prints easily disappear. Other than the two negatives above, I really like having this privacy protector. The only way anyone can see my screen is if they are directly behind me, looking over my shoulder. No one can see anything, except black, from any other angle. As someone who travels a great deal and often has confidential work information on my screen, I really enjoy the added protection. I love the Zagg quality and will definitely continue using their privacy screen protectors on my future phones.

I just bought this screen protector for my new Iphone 17 pro, i was getting out my car and it slipped out if my lap and the screen cracked in 4 places, $60 down the drain, I threw my box away without realizing there was a warranty you have to sign up for, don’t recommend, the privacy is nice but durability is cheap, go with a $25 protector and save the money

I literally have to go do a warranty exchange claim EVERYDAY and now best buy is charging $8 every time to put the new screen protector on which is a scam if you honor your contracted partner warranty you need to put their crappy product on

The product is high quality and does exactly what it’s supposed to. Where I am genuinely impressed is the method of installation. It is absolutely brilliant. Open the box, use the supplied cleaners to clean your phone screen. Place phone face down in the box. Place the lid back down on top of your phone. Pull the tab out and it applies the screen guard without a single bubble! Absolutely phenomenal! Don’t know if this makes it worth the premium in price, but it definitely impressed me. Before this, I was used to using the cheap glass stickers that were hazy. This worked like a charm! Screen is optically clear, with no haze or discoloring. Privacy kicks in at about 30 degrees. Simple yet terribly effective. As a public service, let me stress if you use your phone as a check in device for the airport, work access, etc, make sure not to tilt your phone or the scanner won’t pick up your code. Other than that, absolutely fantastic and I recommend just for the experience of putting on the screen. That was genuine fun!

I decided to try out the Glass 4-Way Privacy XTR Screen Protector, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite phone add-ons — especially for work. The main draw is obviously the privacy filter, and it does exactly what it promises. The screen is crystal clear when you’re looking at it head-on, but anyone trying to peek from the sides just sees a dark blur. In my line of work, I’m often around people — meetings, on-site visits, or just grabbing coffee where coworkers or clients are nearby — and I don’t always want folks seeing my emails, messages, or company info popping up on my phone. With this screen protector, I can scroll through sensitive stuff without feeling like I need to tilt my phone away every few seconds. The “4-way” part is what really sets it apart. First of all packaging is always on Zagg is fantastic. If you were familiar with screen protectors, this one might be new for you in that you install it a little bit differently than Zaggs in the past. Take a moment to read the instructions and make sure that you have it all prepared properly. From start to finish, this took about five minutes to understand prep and install the screen protector. After install, this fit really nicely with a case and wasn’t lifting in any corners in the install this time also made it harder for dust to get trapped under the screen protector. I travel a lot for work, so I value privacy and the screen protector did not let me down. The viewing angle is perfect on this and allows for you to view straight on and slightly askew, but not very far. If you were looking for a screen protector, that allows you to view it any angle and you’re not worried about privacy. You might want to get the non-privacy version of this screen protector from Zagg. I always have loved this brand and their lifetime warranty. I’ve never had any issues redeeming this. I work in a construction related field and I feel like i am harder on phones than most, and I have never had to replace a damaged screen from a failed screen protector with Zagg. Great product and I would recommend anyone

I have been using the XTR privacy screen protector for a week or so now and have been relatively impressed but not totally satisfied. Installation is much easier than any previous screen protectors I’ve used before. The “PerfectFit” tray makes alignment a no-brainer and only takes a few seconds. I will say that after the initial install there were a couple of bubbles under the glass, but I was able to work them out with a little gentle pushing and moving to the side. The surface of the protector feels just like the original screen on my phone but seems to stay cleaner and doesn’t smudge. As for the privacy part, there is a noticeable dimming of the screen brightness which I guess should be expected. However, my biggest complaint is that it doesn’t block the view nearly as much as I had hoped. I travel for work often and at times have to review documents on my phone while doing so. Although the view from the side is darkened some, it is still quite possible for prying eyes to see what is on my screen without a lot of effort. It does offer some increase in privacy, but not quite what I was expecting unfortunately.

I bought this yesterday and after my phone fell forward on my desk it’s already cracked. The privacy works well though, definitely can’t see from the sides.
