This one is no different. Have used it for 4 months. No scratches and the privacy shield helps block those nosey neighbors over your shoulder. NOTE: because of the privacy protection, it will slightly "dim" your screen and it can be hard to view your screen at an angle (like if it is sitting on a table) -- but, you get used to it
