Customers are saying

Customers regard the Pro Keys Wireless Keyboard & Detachable Case as having excellent keyboard quality, offering great protection and ease of use. Many appreciate the long battery life and the snug fit for their iPads. However, some find the case to be heavy, and express concerns about the magnet's strength, the relatively high price, and the lack of pass-through charging.

    Better than magic keyboard!

The keys are nicely and evenly spread, allowing for much better typing than the Apple Magic keyboard I was using. I wasn’t completely sure about getting it because the price point is rather high but it’s worth it to me. The case holds it well and I can still use my iPad on my tripod to record my kid’s basketball games like normal with it on. The charge lasts longer than I thought it would and the 2 spots to hold the iPad while using the combo as a laptop are nicely placed, allowing for great angles for viewing the screen.

It’s not bad, but not great. The keyboard is nice, has a spot for the pencil, but the magnet doesn’t hold very well to stand it up. It’s also a bit heavy, good protection though.

Like it a lot. Keys take some getting used to but not a big deal. Easy to use case and keyboard for the 12.9” iPad Pro. I’ve unfortunately already dropped my iPad multiple times and no issues so far. This was just with the case on the iPad and it the keyboard. I really like the magnetic connection of the keyboard and outer case as I most often use it without the keyboard, it’s super simple to just grab the pad and pencil and go.

I purchased this keyboard Jan (2023) and its no longer working. This is the second zagg key board I’ve bought and only last 1-1 1/2 yrs. When it was working, it ran flawlessly, just doesnt last long.

This case with keyboard is like buying the cheaper version of apple but with the touchpad. The case can be removed and attached which is an advantage. I got this also cheaper from it’s retail price, i was discounted by more than $75 because I joined the best buy membership.

Sturdy, holds up well, looks good. Only complaint would be the keyboard light doesn’t stay on long at all. A touch of any key lights it up, but it will make you backspace whatever letter/number/symbol you type in to light it up in the dark.

This keyboard was recommended for my iPad. It fits my iPad perfectly. The stand magnets are very strong and hold it securely. The keyboard functions nicely. Easy to type, etc. It's nice that it allows the iPad to detach easily without having to remove it from the case. Has a place for the stylus also. Closes securely. It is heavy. I have had no problems with it so far. Works as it should.

This is an excellent keyboard that fits my needs. I purchased nine returned the Apple Magic Keyboard as well as the Logitech, which were both great but each had their issues and thus dea killers. Here are my comments on each (written on the Zagg Keyboard). Zagg Pros: Removable iPad from keyboard (magnetic connection) the iPad has its own, separate case which provides excellent drop protection. Keyboard has a good response and key spacing. Another important feature is protection of the Apple Pencil. The iPad case has a protective slot which allows protection, and charging, for the pencil. Additionally, there is a strap that holds the keyboard/iPad together when closed and provides additional protection for the pencil. Not perfect, but best of all current options. Cons: The iPad has attendance to tip over then placed in the vertical slot on the keyboard and the whole assembly is rather heavy, but not too much so. Backlit keyboard is not automatic and must be manually turned on. No touch pad, however with the best touch screen around not needed for me. Apple Magic Keyboard: Pros: Apple ecosphere, great design and conception and works well. Keys too tight for me to type efficienty. Cons: The deal killers were no added protection for the iPad when removed from the keyboard nor the Apple Pencil. Unfortunately, design won over function. Logitech Keyboard: Pros: Best conceived keyboard case, including the typing experience. Great kickstand concept, similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro. Good protection of the iPad when removed from the keyboard. Cons: No protection for Apple Pencil, deal killer for me. Kickstand is very flimsy and does not support the iPad well when using the touch screen. One final complaint/comment. I was was forced to return the case to Best Buy when they wouldn’t match the price provided by the manufacturer. There was a 25% off savings, which I could not pass up. It’s beyond me why they would not honor the manuf pricing, very frustrating.

Okay, it took a few cases, but I think I finally found the right one. I’m guessing because the iPad Pro (5th gen) is so new, the keyboard case options are slim at the moment. I originally bought the case by Speck. It was more like a folio (no keyboard) and just okay. Next, I purchased the Logitech Combo Touch. It cost roughly $240 and it was pretty darn good, except it was REALLY heavy and there was nothing to keep the Apple Pencil secure except the magnetized side. I toss my tablet in my purse or backpack so I need the pencil to stay in place. It seemed odd to pay that much for the case and not have a way to secure it. This is also one of the reasons I refuse to buy a Magic Keyboard. Anyhow…I did one last search and BAM, the Zagg Pro Keys popped up and I love it!!! Pros and Cons: - detachable keyboard (great if you like to draw or game) - good, solid protection. I rarely drop my iPad, but if it happens now, I’m not worried. It has 6.6’ drop protection (military standard) - it has a space to secure your Apple Pencil — it charges it as well, but if you have any type of cover on your pencil, it probably won’t work - backlit keys (that change colors) with adjustable brightness - Con (or pro, depending on what you like) you have to charge it. It isn’t powered using the magnetic connectors on the side of your iPad and you have to sync it with your tablet via Bluetooth - there isn’t a trackpad — this was not a dealbreaker (FOR ME). I’m so used to using my fingers to select things on my tablet that a trackpad is cool, but not necessary for my needs I could go on and on, but those are just the things that stood out for me. If you are looking for an affordable case with good protection and great for on-the-go, this is for you!
