I was hesitant when buying this gimbal; it was definitely the budget option and the reviews seemed to be mixed. After getting the hang of it for a while, I can say confidently that it was a good purchase. There are some kinks, but for only $99 dollars there isn't much more one could ask for. PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD: -The firmware is stupid hard to update. I had to look up a tutorial on YouTube to figure it out. -Manual controls only work within the manufacturer app -Mount has a hard time with larger phones -In order to work with my iPhone X, I need to extend the arm. With the arm extended it won't fit in the carrying case. (a very minor issue) Note to anyone saying that the start/stop and zoom functions don't work: click on the Bluetooth symbol within the app and make sure that the Gimbal is connected to your phone.

Horrible product, does not hold my iPhone steady enough to use.

Difficult to use. Never stays on. Software is outdated.

Love this gimbal, love the price, the app for ios Is easy to use but the only downside is the app for Android and transferring videos to the camera roll. No info on how to do that on the website either. If any of You could help a girl out and let me know, it would be greatly appreciated

Easy to use No noise Thread Light Battery life App

I bought this after having the DJI Osmo Mobile for a few weeks. In my opinion it's 99% as good as the Osmo. Construction is plastic but that doesn't really bother me. I am not doing pro level photography, just basic video for commercial real estate, so it works great. The molded case is way better than what DJI gives you (theirs is a zip up bag). The app allows it to do motion time lapse and regular time lapse just as easily as the DJI app. It's missing the trigger that the DJI has, but the same function exists by pressing the "mode" button on the Smooth Q. Definitely recommended!

I was really hoping this gimbal would’ve worked for me. Feel, fit, and case were nice. I took my phone out of its case and installed in gimbal. With adjustable arm all the way out, my phone wasn’t level with horizon and had to push spring holder down all the way. So when changing from arm up to arm extended(for low angle filming) the phone would hit the gimbal. With a smaller phone I think you’d be fine. I could’ve purchased counter weight for horizontal leveling. Seems like an extra step you shouldn’t have to do to ensure the motors don’t work hard to level phone. If the arms were a little longer you may not have these problems. This gimbal is suppose to be able to handle larger screen phones, but within minutes of setup, I knew that motors would wear out prematurely supporting my iPhone 8 +. Could go with smooth 4, but think I’ll try DJI Osmo Mobile 2. Want something a little more compact.

Easy To Work , just runs out of battery within a 2 hours or soo

I was very excited to use this to our Las Vegas & Grand Canyon trip. It is very easy to use for picture and videos I tested and tried before we leave working everything great. I used first day worked everything perfect. Evening I tried to charge not charging I checked online help and tried all suggestions and trouble shootings nothing worked. My Smooth Q didn't turn on or charged. I see lot of people had same problem. Any it didn't wok for my family vacation. We are so disappointed.

My only concern is that my phone would not capture as much on the video, so you need to get one of those fisheye lenses or use one of the newer phones with a better lens.

I was very excited for this product. They need to address the fact that it only works with phones under 6" and less than than 200 grams. It was only after I opened the box and read the literature that I thought there may be an issue - something they should have communicated on their packaging. My iPhone 11 Pro Max is 6.5" and 250 grams, and sends the axises into a fit because of their weight issue. Very disappointing and will probably look at options from other companies that will be compatible with larger, heavier phones.

To the best of my ability, I could not make this thing work. not even a little. The manual seemed helpful till I needed more info. I go to the Website, its Japanese, Chinese, or something? got that translated. found the firmware tool and usb driver and firmware update. Got the firmware tool installed but the gimble will not take the update. Nothing about this was remotely easy, I was frustrated almost immediately when i finally turned it on and was simply sick with it by the time I spent the 1.5 hrs downloading the useless updates. Im returning it in the morning!!

Could NOT get this piece of garbage to work, the app takes over my phone with spam wear, the engineering on this phone is idiotic; they allow a balancing knob for adjusting to larger phones, but when you slide the tray out, it hits the handle, thus defeating the purpose, great Chinese technology there, folks. App would NOT connect to bluetooth, even tho it saw the device, kept getting an error message, AND When I try to update the app, all I get is "network error!" I spent 2 hours trying to set this thing up, and could not get it to work. Also the phone clamp is ridiculous, you have to stretch it with both hands, then use your third hand (or maybe your tail...) to slide the phone in. There are more problems about this thing, im sick of thinking about this, returning it.

After spending hours trying to balance my galaxy note 9 and contacting Zhiyun for customer support I couldn’t get it to work. Online customer support wouldn’t even answer my question.

Works well but the Battery is the worst! works fine but after few months... 9 months to be exact. the full charge battery last for minutes... from 12 hours to 15 minutes! Do not buy!

The pan features only worked up and down, the side to side wouldn’t work. Mid use it would just do some random stuff and change its camera angle. Was not satisfied at all. Returned it the same day I bought it.

Love it for my cellular and take different selfies

Bought 4/19, used it sparingly, now it’s 4/22 and the unit is no longer holding a charge, making it useless. Ughhh
