Survival zombie game that is pretty unique and not easy. I've enjoyed the challenge and is very intense at times. When you die your character is gone for good and you respawn as a new character. Your previous character is now a zombie and you can back and kill it to try and get your stuff back. Other players characters that have turned into zombies may also show up which is an interesting concept. It has multiplayer which I haven't tried yet. Got this for 8 bucks brand new, which is an absolute steal for this quality of a game

oh man is this game scary from the start. doesn't give you the story and you are already in a dark place following the voice of someone on the radio. very unique that time game uses both the wii pad to play. coming to other consoles but without the pad. i dont know if you should buy it for other systems than the wii u

Thrilling & Pretty Unique Zombie Game

What I liked about this game:
The sense of panic as you spend time flipping through your inventory on the game pad before the zombies pounce on you - it really gives the game a sense of urgency that you don't get by just hitting a button and switching weapons. Plus its terrifying to look away from the screen and not know what you'll see when you look back up!
What I didn't like about the game:
There's only one melee weapon unfortunately, and that's the cricket bat. While it's not a bad weapon, it gets a little bit stale to bash zombies the same exact way over and over. In a game where you play different people each time you die and you want to conserve ammo, it would have been nice to have different objects you can pick up and equip.
Overall, very fun and thrilling, and I definitely like how they incorporated the gamepad element into really bolstering the atmosphere of this game.

Pretty fun game! Still has some issues here and there but I've been having fun with it. It was only $8, a little over $7 with my GCU discount! Definitely worth it for that price.

Good gameplay, but would've liked to be able to use another controller other than the gamepad for single player. Maybe it's just me, but the times when you have to look at the gamepad it feels like it's really distracting you from what's going on on the TV. That REALLY factors in when playing a game where you need to pay attention to zombies creeping up on you but you're too busy rummaging through your backpack on the gamepad. But all in all a fun zombie game.

This game is a secret gem. It's too bad that they won't make sequels. It takes awhile to learn the controls efficiently - it's unlike anything else on the Wii U. But, once you learn them, the game is fantastic. I already bought this as a gift for a friend.

Putting the "survival" back in survival horror

ZombiU is difficult, make no mistake, but it is a survival horror game in the truest sense. Resources are scarce. The enemy is numerous, and you will need to use your wits to survive. The game makes truly excellent use of the game pad. It acts as your map, inventory control, and it allows you to scan rooms and "ping" enemies with a sonar-like function. If you think survival horror games have become more about action than survival, ZombiU will be the perfect remedy for you.

This game has you on your toes almost the whole way through! The gameplay is pretty good for the most part, my only complaint is the melee attacks. These attacks get kind of annoying after a while. This will probably be considered a hidden gem in the future.

I picked this game up on sale having heard lots of mixed things about it.
Being a launch title for the Wii U I assumed it was going to be all flash and very little substance. I was surprised at how much I genuinely enjoyed myself with it. I don't even usually like Zombie games!
This game is one of the few non-Nintendo-developed games on Wii U that I have played where I felt as though the GamePad controller was given the proper amount of attention by the developers. It's got many uses and I was never annoyed by it or felt like I was being forced to do something unnatural.
The game itself is a Zombie-Survival-Horror First Person shooter, so I expected something fairly average and thankfully I was wrong. There is a lot of unique charm to this game, and one of the things I loved best was discovering that it takes several queues from the Souls series by From Software. (Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, etc.)
You start the game as a survivor that makes it to a safe house in the subway system underneath London and you begin receiving help and direction from someone who communicates with you through a tablet device (GamePad!)... but the best part is after you die. Suddenly you are back at the original safe house controlling a completely different survivor. This new character has to try and pick up where their predecessor left off. This means that if you've got a couple awesome items or weapons, you'll often choose to leave one behind in case you die... that way the next guy/gal has something better than just a pistol and a cricket bat to start with.
Oh and the guy that died before you? He's a zombie now of course. If you can find him and make him un-undead, then you get to retrieve whatever items or weapons he had on him when he died!
See? That's sweet right?
Just makes me more frustrated that publishers are so afraid of getting into serious developing for the Wii U. There is a lot of untapped potential in this system.
Anyways.
It's not the greatest game ever, or even on the Wii U right now, but it's definitely better than I think any one would have assumed given the name or packaging... I'd recommend giving it a shot.

This game is very fun. The way you use the gamepad makes me wish more games utilize the abilities of the gamepad. The language is not great for children and some of the killing is graphic.

I initially thought that this game was going to use the tired and true method of zombie killings, however was pleasantly surprised by the outcome. Not for children for sure.

You can tell the developers really put some thought into this game, with creative uses for the Gamepad, etc. I picked it up on a whim, and I'm having a blast playing it.

I am really enjoying this game so far. I know I was late buying it but I was into other games at the time. Got this for a great price and was well worth the wait. The gamepad integration is fantastic in this game. If you have a Wii U and have not played this yet then do yourself a favor and buy it now!

Let's just say that this is one of the best and most innovative shows of the wii u game pad when it came out. As far as being a zombie game, it's a decent showing. Nintendo has been one of the best companies in the last generation for having console exclusives that actually are good and unique experiences. Permadeath and continuity with each character feels organic, and challenging, but appropriate. Overall, the game is a good value(especially for the 7.99 I paid for it).
