When my Samsung Note 7 started warning me about impending explosions, I took the opportunity to buy a phone that's 90% as good for less than half the price. I'd say the Axon is even with the Note on everything but the camera and screen brightness. The axon feels faster, the battery life is roughly the same, the speakers are much better. The camera sucks in low light, but day time pictures are really good. They may be able to improve the camera with software updates. I'd highly recommend it.

Great phone except the android 7.1.1 update messed it all up won't download apps from Google play ZTE know about this and says to wait update in the works ????? Um no thanks

After less than two months, the phone is broken. Suddenly, every white screen is pink. ZTE will replace it, but no phone should break after two months. Add to that the fact that the camera, cell signal, and UI are all below par, and I would recommend staying away from this phone.

This phone is a bit lame. Doesn't really feel premium and I sold it after a month. Speakers aren't that great and the camera is awful. Wouldn't recommend it.

I had it for a couple days and the screen went blank wasnt able to turn it on or off and the screen would get fuzzy then back to blank so I returned it

at about half the price of carrier phones, this one will work for me. Before I picked up this version I used the Mini version. I picked up a ZTE axon 7 Mini almost the first day that it was released to Best Buy. I really like the size of the phone but it immediately became clear that the battery life was something substantially less than what I was used to with my OnePlus One after 2 years of usage. The axon 7 mini would get about 3 maybe three and a half hours of screen time before it would die. I found myself charging the phone two or three times a day and dreaded having to go out in the evening for fear that it would shut off while I was out. I like all the specs of the phone and the way it fit in my hand. But I couldn't get past the obvious battery shortfall. I had the phone for about a week and a half and exchanged it for the ZTE axon 7, it’s bigger brother. The phone is about the same size as my previous phone maybe a bit thinner and it gets a full five to five-and-a-half hours of battery life with the screen on with just a slightly larger battery. I'm unsure if I had a defective unit but I saw a substantial difference in battery life between the two phones. As for the axon 7 it is a very capable phone, very quick and I hope to keep it for the next year or two. I have looked into the breakdown to replace the battery and it looks like a nightmare comparatively but that's the world we live in, buy it today, through it away tomorrow, and buy it again...

Good phone for the money but buggy software and terrible camera.

phone looked good ,seemed to work awesomely but started dropping calls, in less than 2 weeks....... the phone just can't make a phone call to save its life . I had to buy a used galaxy s6 edge, now i don't know if they will take it back??!! Don't be fooled,, junk period!

Please don't buy this. It seemed like a deal at the time, but the company went under and they don't support the technology anymore so now we're stuck with this phone until it dies.

Was told by multiple Bestbuy employee that phone would work on Verizon. After being backordered. Received and was told by Verizon and Bestbuy Phone will not work. Bestbuy took the phone back with no issues.

I've been using the Axon 7 64GB Quartz Gray for a little over two weeks, and I'm very satisfied. The sound quality is good on conversations, the screen is very good, and with the AMOLED display, I can take pictures in daylight without the screen fading out too badly. The processor is able to handle anything, I've thrown at it, but to be honest, I'm not a power user.and don't make heavy demands of my phone. Battery life is very good, and it charges very quickly. I also love the fingerprint detector used to unlock the phone. The fingerprint detector may take a couple of tries to get it to open, but I like it better than having to put in a code or password. One of the things that pleased me most about the phone is that it comes with a bunch of useful accessories right in of the box. There is an adequate soft TPU case protector, a plastic film screen protector, a set of earbuds, and a micro USB to USB C adapter right in the box! You don't have to rush out and buy anything else until you have a chance to evaluate the accessories that come in the box. One note, there's a very thin polyethylene screen protector on the glass screen as it comes out of the box. You'll need to peel it off before applying the more sturdy screen protector in the box. The one accessory you may want to buy is a USB On The Go (OTG) adapter so that you can transfer photos and stuff to and from a USB thumb drive. The amount of Android customization that ZTE did is acceptable. It isn't weighed down with a bunch of unwanted junk. I live outside the United States and used my T-Mobile SIM while in the States, and my Claro SIM here in Ecuador. It's convenient not to have to change SIMs with the dual SIM feature. So far, I'm very happy with the Axon 7.

i was excited to receive this phone and when finally received the functions of this phone was entirely slow

I didn't like the OS on this phone. It was not a good one to even use for a day.

I watched several Youtube reviews and talks on features of the phones (not all) as well as did some reading on android specific websites. These are valid. I've only had this phone for about two(2) days now, so far liking it. I hope it holds up well a year from now, if not then warranty can take care it. When you look at all things this phone does well it becomes a tremendous value. The screen is beautiful, great speakers, very nice looking, 2 year warranty with accident protection built in for a very fair cost in event phone is broken, good camera in daylight and decent in moderate lighting conditions, average battery, fast charge is helpful to offset battery loss, ZTE software on top of stock android is minimal and I have customized my phone like I like with a little work, phone is very responsive and fast as you would expect with this chipset, fingerprint sensor seems to work fine, The only negative I can find is the way notifications are displayed on lock screen and home and back buttons work fine but take a little while to get used to. All phones have their little quirks but you would be hard pressed to get more at this price point. T-mobile is my service provider and voice and lte speeds have been great so far. Visual voicemail was a simple download from app store. Only downside is no wifi calling. Phone also comes with a clear skin in box. Also being unlocked is great if you travel overseas. I think 95% of people would be happy with this phone with all things considered. Excellent value in my opinion.

Every technical review claims this device falls short in being an actual flagship killer and in my opinion they are wrong in matters that count. My Reason for buying a high end phone is high definition in both video & audio that comes with a non LCD display which have improved tremendously, tho I still prefer the AMOLED display which this has and it produces a very high end clarity contrast & brightness with a 24 bit quad digital 2 analog converter with Dolby Atmosphere Sound enhancements.I love waterproof tech but not at the cost of capping output volume both in speakers or speaker in most cases as well headphones. Camera is more than fine as it amazes me how many professionals rip apart this camera yet they don't seem to really place importance on display or sound as they always mostly use phones internet and built in audio player or worse net streamed music to make their judgement and never use a blue ray video file and professional audio player that most audiophiles import from the Play Store. Any camera at 8 mp and better is more than high end but they are never satisfied. This phone like all smartphones is not nor never will be perfect. it still a flagship killer in my humble opinion!
