Identify what you really need in a phone
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5it's "OK" coming from Galaxy S7 guy. Camera 7, it is enough to see a subject at day and night. 2x, 4x, 6x zoom aren't that big of a deal. It depends if you prefer warm or cool pictures, i usually set my features to a warmer picture settings. Speed 10, activating some developer options helps alot, less animation is quicker. Display 10, I use 120hz FHD+. The difference in 60 to 120 is quite obvious when you are used to seeing 60h. The adjustable brightness of the product is impressive, i don't recommend turning it to max. Size 8, Sadly, phones are getting bigger. And i am so comfortable with my S7 5inches display. Battery 8, For a longer phone, i was expecting longer battery life. Using 120hz will drain the battery of your phone. 12 hours of usage. 4 hours of videcall using BLUETOOTH wireless earphone 4 hours of web browsing 4 hours of youtube [2hrs], samsung music [2hrs] using speakers. NOTE: i use 1/3 brightness, dark mode, wallpaper is black. 0.5x animation scale, reduce animations is turned off.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus Is The Perfect Phone!!!
|Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I couldn't be happier with my new phone! The Samsung Galaxy S20+ has been a joy to use thus far. I bought it from Best Buy because they had the gorgeous exclusive Aura Blue! It's the most beautiful phone I have ever had, and really catches the eye. The 120 Hertz refresh rate is incredible! Such a game changer, and much easier on the eyes. I upgraded from my Lilac Purple Samsung Galaxy S9+, and I haven't regretted it for 1 second (and I loved that phone). You can't go wrong with the Samsung Galaxy S20+, I recommend it 110%!!!

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Picture quality, Screen quality, SpeedI took some photographs included the natural image and X 300 zoom image. That is an amazing camera function. The recognition of face image for security is great and fast except at low luminary. I think this smart phone is excellent. I appreciate the best buy's good deal.

Great flagship phone
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Battery life, Camera, Picture qualityCons mentioned:Power saving modeThe S20+ is the "middle" child of the S20 family. Bigger than the standard S20, it is a very large phone, but is smaller than the gargantuan S20 Ultra. Moving up gets you a larger screen from the standard S20 as well as a time of flight sensor added to the camera array, along with a bigger battery. You get the extra size vs the regular S20 but a better pixel density than the larger Ultra. The camera array, which, other than the ToF sensor, is the same as the S20. The 12MP wide angle camera, which I think is the real winner of the three, is common across all three S20 models. The main shooter is a 12MP, with a "zoom" camera which uses a 64MP sensor cropped down to achieve a 3x zoom equivalent. You can also use the 64MP without cropping, which the software will occasionally suggest in certain circumstances. Video options include up to 8K video, but since it's only 24p, it's not terribly useful for anything with a lot of movement. Far better is to drop down to the 4K options with higher frames per second. Also of note, I don't believe the 8K video is an option for recording to the SD card. Samsung touts its "single take" mode, which fires all the cameras to create a series of photos and short videos, but I've hardly used it. Overall, while it lacks the overall eye-popping specs of the Ultra, most professional reviewers have not found a huge gap between the S20/20+ and Ultra, and like I said, what I find the best camera of the 3 (the wide), is common on all of them. And with 128GB of storage standard, and the ability to add more via microSD card, there is ample place to store all of your pics (and apps and music, etc.) The screen is phenomenal, very bright and with tremendous color capability. While you have to cut resolution to go into 120Hz mode and lose some battery life, you'll never go back to 60Hz mode. It's buttery smooth and looks just amazing. While Samsung has touted its cameras this generation, in all honesty the screen is probably the most superlative aspect of the phone. The combination of size, brightness, refresh rate, and color make this the most appealing phone display I have ever used. Battery life, with a 4500mAh battery, is solid. The included rapid charger is indeed very quick. I get a full day of use out of a full charge. Wireless charging, albeit slower, is also supported. The Snapdragon 865 processor, coupled with fast storage and 12GB of RAM, has everything humming along nicely. It's really fast, as a flagship phone should be. I have been pleasantly surprised with the speed of updates. While only the Pixel line approaches Apple's speed and regularity of updates, I have received 3 different updates since late May, and I am pleased to find that I am on the current Android security patch. I hadn't used a Samsung phone in a long time--back to the S3. I'd used LG and Google Pixel in the interim. My return to the Galaxy line has so far been a good one--very pleased with this device across the board.

Great quality, a couple minor quirks
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Overall, the phone is great. A few minor issues. First, as always, Samsung insists on having Bixby take over everything & be the default phone assistant. Bixby is not even close to Google Assistant in usefullness and quality. No worries: Bixby can be removed as the default assistant by tapping Settings-Apps-Bixby Voice-Set as Default-None. (The only thing I use Bixby for is "Lock my Phone". It is the only assistant out there that does that by voice). Second, Google Duo does not always "ring" despite the settings being correct. I imagine that will be corrected via an update soon (hint-hint, Samsung and/or Google). Third, camera settings do not supply specific of information regarding resolution, at least not in regular mode. Be nice if the settings showed the resolutions for each photo "size" setting. It's odd, selecting the photo setting by the screen aspect ratio, versus the pixel dimensions. Settings should show both. I'd like to see that corrected via an update Other than those 3 minor items, the phone is wonderful.

Sharp & Fast

Quality5 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Battery life, Camera, Picture qualityI upgraded to this S20+ from a dying S7, so needless to say this thing is quite an improvement. I was concerned the 128GB wouldn't be enough but, after all the apps and game installs I've still only used about 40Gb. It takes up to a 1Tb micro-sd which is more than enough for 8k/4k HD video and pictures. Runs fast, without any hesitation, and the camera takes very impressive pictures. Battery life is excellent, lasts all day, and 25w charging will go from dead to 100% in 90 mins. The 6.7" screen seems just right. Can't put this thing down.

Q: QuestionDoes it have a flat front screen or the curved wrap around edge screen like the 9s?
Asked by Paige.
- A:Answer I have an S9 and the significant curve can cause issues with functions such as texting and tapping screen apps as well as screen protectors popping off. I read that the S20 would have a very slight curve but not completely flat. Based on the photos, it seems to be true.

Q: QuestionWhen I purchase this phone from Best Buy is there an Activation or Upgrade Fee from VZ? If so, how much?
Asked by BBBB.
- A:Answer I was charged $40.00 from Verizon. It was called an upgrade charge. I've been with Verizon for over 20 years. What a ripoff...

Q: QuestionI AM GRANDFATHERED IN TO A GO UNLIMITED WILL I NEED TO CHANGE MY PLAN TO UPGRADE? AND HOW MUCH EXTRA DOES THIS COST??
Asked by miZ.
- A:Answer I am also grandfathered into a very old unlimited plan. I was able to upgrade to a new phone and pay the monthly installment without changing my plan. If you do it through best buy, they can override the system. Going to a Verizon store and upgrading it, will cause you to upgrade your plan.

Q: Questiondoes the S20+ have the headphone jack or are you forced to buy bluetooth headphones?
Asked by Tcaddell.
- A:Answer the S20+ does NOT have the classic 3.5mm analog headphone jack. It has only the USB-C connector. S20+ is packaged with updated, AKG-branded wired earbuds with a USB-C connector, so no, you are NOT forced to buy Bluetooth headphones. The AKG earbuds sound pretty good, and they have a good microphone, so they are good for phone calls as well.

Q: Questionwhat is the difference between these 2 phones? S20+5G / S20+5G ULTRA?
Asked by keap.
This question was asked about the related product: Samsung - Galaxy S20+ 5G Enabled 128GB - Aura Blue (Verizon)- A:Answer The biggest difference is the camera. The Ultra has the big telephoto lens. And the phone itself is a bit larger but otherwise pretty much the same. I went for the s20+ as it was a bit cheaper and I didn't need the extra camera features.
