Love my SabDisj
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed.Me And My Royal Enfield motorcycle are traveling around recording YouTubes and I use the SanDisk Extreme 2TB SSD to store my videos until I can get them edited and up on YouTube. It has been a great product and being solid-state I don't have to worry about the punishment it takes being strapped to my Interceptor 650 all day. Getting ready to buy my third one. I love it!

very satisfied ssd
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Speed is 5x than hard drive (500mb/s vs 100mb/s); size is generally only 1/6 volume of hard drive. It is great. Any one knows to how to encrypt it on Mac?

One of the best SSD that you can buy!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This is my second SSD from SanDisk and it's the same one. I really love this device, the speed, the weight, the size, and the quality are amazing!

Great place to reliably store photos and mem cards
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I have the 2 TB device which holds a lot of images. Sd cards hold 32 to 64 GB typically so this will hold about 30 of my cards, but I dont have 30 cards since each one is $120. It is a no-brainer to buy this to back up files. It reads and writes incredibly fast using USB 3.0. I am very happy also that I caught it on sale.

No Complaints! Mac OSX Catalina approved
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.Disk Utility app in mac, reformat to AFPS, and BOOM! One super quick and steady ssd external portable drive. I bought two of these to use for virtual instrument libraries and sample libraries, and their file structures which can be any where from a few megabytes to hundreds of GBs. For those interested in which libraries I've moved to these drives, I have my entire Native Instruments Komplete 12 Collector's Edition, Eastwest Composer Cloud, Falcon/UVI Libraries, and more. Since these drives won't be creating and deleting stuff over and over, they have the potential to last a very long time with good care and handling. It comes with usb-c to usb-c cable and an optional usb-c to usb-3.0. This is a great bonus for me when I have to travel or work away from my studio, and may need a different port to connect. I didn't do any official speed testing, but did take some stopwatch measurements to see, and the results were not too far off between the 3.0 and usb-c connection. For me they were plugged into a CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 dock, which is connected to my Macbook Pro 2014 (thunderbolt 2 backwards compatible! with official apple cable adapter). Anyhow, enough said on that. These drives are not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and that is saying a lot these days! I have nothing negative to say about these drives after using them for the past few weeks. So much faster than the 5400 and 7200 rpm drives I had been using via thunderbolt 2 and usb 2/3 in the past. I will follow up if there are any issues to share.

Fast, Reliable Little Drive
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed.I needed this for my work computer, especially since I've been working from home due to COVID-19 restrictions. I needed to replace an aging external drive on which I had nearly all my project files on that was starting to act up. I needed something a bit more reliable so this was it. It is small, light-weight, and pretty fast. Granted, there is a newer model that came out that is faster, but more expensive. For what I am using this device for, it works extremely well. I have had no problems with it working with my machine. Plugged it in, and it was immediately recognized. No boot-up issues or crashes or anything like that. Yes, it is kinda pricey, but such is the nature of SSDs.

Hard drive that actually WORKS!!???
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. After buying two other external hard drives from major brands that crapped out in hours or days I finally ponied up the bucks for this Sandisk Solid State drive and so far after almost a month and tons of downloads it works like a champ!! Don't waste your money on ANY standard external drive as they are junk IMHO.

Excellent device
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I needed a sizable space to deal with my large SLR picture and movie files allowing me to keep free space on my computer hard drive. The speed the Sandusky device can transfer data is very beneficial to me cause I can’t spend a lot of extra time sitting and waiting to get the data off my SD card(s). This device also allows me to finish my photos in LightRoom without having to copy them to the computer too.. I really like that this device has a rugged build quality and seems like I can rely on it for high reliability. I also copied a huge amount of my important documents into a ‘documents’ folder too. Such a cool, small and fast device. It’s a bit costly, but after comparing the capability of other products I choose the SanDisk 2tb and really like it a lot.

Q: QuestionCan this device be password protected? I'm only interested in answers from people who actually have one and have password protected it.
Asked by Tina.
- A:Answer Yes but not the drive it self their is a vault program that everything goes into that is password protected. The software can be upgraded for better encryption as well. Keep in mind that moving stuff into the vault is very slow, I hope this helps. Kevin

Q: QuestionDoes this have a spin speed of 7200 RPM?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It’s a Solid State Drive (SSD), there are no moving parts. I will say that it does have lightning fast read and write speeds. Backed up about 700gigs in about 20 mins.

Q: QuestionCan this be swapped back and forth between PC and Mac, to transfer files from one to another? Or does it need to be formatted specifically for one or the other like most hard drives? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am not a tech person.
Asked by Arlingtonhoo.
- A:Answer Yes, it can be used to transfer files between Mac and PC. I don’t remember the out of box format, but from Mac’s disk utilities format as FAT. I have used it this way.

Q: QuestionWill this work to store games via the next gen consoles? PS5/Xbox Series X
Asked by HittingFades.
- A:Answer Hi, please be informed that this SSD can be connected as an external drive connected to a PS5 or an XBOX Series X Gaming Console. However, please note that if these consoles allow playing games that are installed on an externally connected disk drive, then you should be able to play games on your PS5/ XBOX using this SSD Drive. In order to know how to do the same if possible, we suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the corresponding gaming console.
