Classic Shin Megami Tensei Dungeon Crawler
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is a remake of a spin-off title that was initially released on the Nintendo DS in 2010, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. Although this game is played as a dungeon crawler and differs from the usual play style of the more recent Shin Megami Tensei releases on the Nintendo 3DS, it does a good job of returning the series to its beginnings when the games were all dungeon crawlers. The main difference between this game and the original 2010 version is the addition of an extra dungeon and additional endings that can be unlocked based on your interactions with the newly introduced character, Alex. Pros: - Adjustable difficulty settings. - Ability to save almost anywhere at any time. - Improved dungeon designs. - Extended campaign mode that offers several hours of gameplay. Cons: - The likelihood of successful demon negotiations are more based on your character's "alignment" (lawful, neutral, chaotic) rather than your ability to make the right choices. - No Turn Press bonuses for hitting an enemy's weakness. - Co-Op Attacks depend on your demons' alignments. While not perfect, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux offers a long and satisfying campaign that includes several endings while making use of its several enhancements. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of the series or who is interested in it.

A better Strange Journey
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SMT is what Atlus demon negotiation JRPG games used to fall under on tell Persona branched out into its own thing and both series split off. Where as Persona is the more well know and casualized/easier games to get into the SMT series is the harder more challenging games that require a lot more thought and strategy put into them. It also happens to be the more forgotten series. But Atlus is trying to rectify that by bringing back one of there best DS games Strange Journey with new gameplay features a whole new character new story and plot points more demons to add to your party it's almost like it's a brand new game. And with SMT mainline entry coming to the switch it seems like the series is finally gonna get the love it deserves. So pick this game up and enjoy a more darker JRPG from Atlus you'll thank me later.

Excellent remake of the Nintendo DS SMT RPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.SMT Strange Journey is a RPG published by Atlus originally developed over a decade ago for the Nintendo DS. This title is a complete remake of said game for the new Nintendo 3DS. I'm only a few hours in, but am impressed by the updated graphics and musical score. The original Nintendo DS game was massive and took many hours to complete, and I'm expecting the same from this updated title as well.

Best game in the series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not gonna lie, I was skeptical of the new character they added but they compliment the story quite well actually, plus they added a whole new dungeon that's perfect for training your demons. This game is by far my favorite of the entire series, they really make use of that M rating. You get to witness the true savagry of demons, and man. This game was worth every penny I spent on it.

It's Shin Megami Tensei
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only reason I bought this when I did is that it was on clearance and the prices for all the Shin Megami games are skyrocketing. Like, why is shin IV and Apocalypse so expensive? It's crazy I tell you. Every Shin game is good from what I have played. Definitely worth getting if you like this series.

SMT not for the faint of heart
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an RPG for hardcore gamers only, it is an extremely difficult turn-based RPG. SMT strange Journey is a rewarding experience with a very cool story that combines occult with sci-fi.

Plenty of new, without sacrificing the old
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From its demon collecting and killer combat to its sci-fi South Pole setting, Strange Journey Redux is a fantastically engrossing adventure, and an excellent reason to get lost in your 3DS once again.

GREAT RPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an updated remake, and I did play the original that came out 10 years ago. This is worth getting for the update since there are new story lines and demons added. Much richer game play this time around, and includes the Japanese voice acting. Sadly, no English voice acting.
