You can use a 4-ohm DVC subwoofer with most amplifiers, but it's important to match the subwoofer's final wired impedance to the amplifier's capabilities. Always check your amplifier’s manual to ensure compatibility with the subwoofer’s wired impedance.

The ideal enclosure for a 4-ohm DVC subwoofer depends on your sound preference. Sealed enclosures provide tight, accurate bass, while ported enclosures offer louder, deeper bass. Refer to the subwoofer’s specifications for recommended enclosure types and volumes.

A 4-ohm DVC subwoofer can be wired in series for an 8-ohm load or in parallel for a 2-ohm load. Series wiring connects the positive terminal of one coil to the amplifier and the negative to the positive of the second coil, with the remaining negative going to the amplifier. Parallel wiring connects both positive terminals to the amplifier’s positive and both negatives to the amplifier’s negative.
