What features should I look for in a laser printer for printing on cardstock?

When choosing a laser printer for cardstock, consider features such as a high paper weight capacity, adjustable paper trays, and a straight paper path to handle thicker materials. Also, look for printers with high print resolution for sharp images and text, as well as compatibility with various cardstock finishes.

Can laser printers handle textured or glossy cardstock?

Many laser printers can print on textured or glossy cardstock, but it's important to check the printer's specifications for supported media types. Some models are better equipped to handle specialty finishes, so always use cardstock recommended by the printer manufacturer for best results.

Do I need special toner or settings to print on cardstock with a laser printer?

Most standard toner cartridges work well with cardstock, but you may need to adjust your printer settings to accommodate thicker paper. Select the appropriate media type, such as 'Cardstock' or 'Heavy Paper,' in your printer's settings to optimize toner adhesion and print quality.

Are duplex (double-sided) printing features available for cardstock on laser printers?

Some laser printers offer duplex printing for cardstock, but not all models support this feature due to the thickness of the paper. Check the printer’s specifications to see if automatic duplexing is supported for heavy media, or consider manual duplexing if needed.

How do I prevent paper jams when printing on cardstock with a laser printer?

To minimize paper jams, use cardstock within the weight range recommended by your printer. Load the cardstock into the manual feed or bypass tray if available, and ensure the paper guides are snug against the edges. Always fan the cardstock before loading to prevent sheets from sticking together.
