Yes, you can route speaker wires inside walls or under carpets using in-wall rated (CL2 or CL3) speaker wire. Cable raceways and wire covers are also useful for concealing wires along baseboards or walls.

Both options work. Bare wire connections are common, but banana plugs offer a cleaner, more secure connection and make it easier to plug and unplug your speakers.

To maintain correct polarity, connect the positive (+) terminal on your receiver to the positive terminal on your speaker, and the negative (−) to the negative. Most speaker wires are marked or color-coded to help you match the terminals.
