Synopsis

Shrek Forever After
A domesticated Shrek hatches a plan to recapture his mojo and discovers what life in Far Far Away land would have been like had he never existed in this final chapter of the popular animated film series. There used to be a time when the villagers would run in terror at the mere mention of the name Shrek, but these days the big green ogre is married to Princess Fiona and raising triplets. Maintaining your fierce public persona is no simple task when you're juggling infants and changing diapers, so when Shrek realizes that nobody is afraid of him anymore he recruits mischief-maker Rumpelstiltskin to restore his once-mighty roar. Unfortunately for Shrek, that plan hits an unexpected hitch. As a result, the morose monster takes a trip into an alternate-universe Far Far Away land where there is no Shrek, and Rumpelstiltskin reigns. There, Donkey spends his days hauling carts, and a portly Puss in Boots prefers lounging to swashbuckling. Perhaps with a little extra effort, Shrek will be able to regain his status as top ogre in town and still have his happily ever after, too. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Shrek 2
The cranky beast with a heart of gold returns to the big screen in this sequel to the computer-animated smash hit Shrek. After massive green ogre Shrek (voice of Mike Myers) and his new bride, Princess Fiona (voice of Cameron Diaz), return from their honeymoon, they receive an invitation to visit Fiona's parents, King Harold (voice of John Cleese) and Queen Lillian (voice of Julie Andrews), who are the monarchs of The Land Far, Far Away. However, the king and queen are more than a bit alarmed to discover their new son-in-law is a monster the color of algae, and that their daughter's little problem with a magical spell gone wrong has turned into a full-time skin condition. Certain this isn't the sort of "happily ever after" they dreamed of for their daughter, King Harold decides to take Shrek out of the picture and return Fiona to her former beauty with the help of Prince Charming (voice of Rupert Everett), the Fairy Godmother (voice of Jennifer Saunders), and ogre-slaying feline Puss in Boots (voice of Antonio Banderas). Shrek 2 also features the voice of Eddie Murphy returning as Donkey, as well as Larry King as an Ugly Stepsister. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Shrek the Third
Shrek and Fiona's (Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz, respectively) fairy-tale wedding has gone off without a hitch, yet just as the beaming newlyweds prepare to enjoy their blissful "happily ever after," the sudden death of King Harold (John Cleese) finds everyone's favorite ornery ogre being reluctantly fitted for the royal crown. Troubled to learn that not only will he be compelled to rule Far Far Away, but that he and Fiona are also expecting a little ogre, Shrek determines to track down his new bride's rebellious cousin, Artie (Justin Timberlake) -- the one true heir to the throne -- in order to focus on fatherhood without the added distraction of having to preside over the kingdom. As Shrek sets out with faithful companions Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to locate the medieval high-school slacker and bring him back to become the reigning sovereign of Far Far Away, handsome snake Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) slithers back to the castle in the company of the dreaded Captain Hook (Ian McShane) to stage a diabolically timed coup and assume control of the throne. Now, as Shrek, Donkey, and Puss in Boots do their best to wrangle up the feisty Artie, Fiona must enlist the aid of fighting princesses Snow White (Amy Poehler), Sleeping Beauty (Cheri Oteri), Rapunzel (Maya Rudolph), and Cinderella (Amy Sedaris) to barricade the castle and fend off Prince Charming's invading army of fairy-tale villains until her beloved husband can return with the cavalry to save the day. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Shrek
In this fully computer-animated fantasy from the creators of Antz, we follow the travails of Shrek (Mike Myers), a green ogre who enjoys a life of solitude. Living in a far away swamp, he is suddenly invaded by a hoard of fairy tale characters, such as the Big Bad Wolf, the Three Little Pigs, and Three Blind Mice, all refugees of their homes who have been shunned by the evil Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow). They want to save their homes from ruin, and enlist the help of Shrek, who is in the same situation. Shrek decides to offer Lord Farquaad a deal; he will rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), who is intended to be Farquaad's bride. Accompanying Shrek on his adventure is the faithful but loquacious Donkey (Eddie Murphy), who has a penchant for crooning pop songs. The two must face various obstacles in order to locate the Princess, but they find their world challenged when she reveals a dark secret that will affect the group. Shrek is based on the children's book by William Steig, and features additional voice-work by Vincent Cassel, Cody Cameron, and Kathleen Freeman. ~ Jason Clark, Rovi

I've purchased the movies before in the "Entire story" Blu Ray box set. Those where individually sealed in their own cases. This set is a much slicker, slimmer profile. Albeit, the only reason I bought this pack was because I wanted the digital copies for my daughter, for her iPad. The box comes with one code for all four movies and another code for bonus features. I'm a little disheartened because the code only works for VuDu and didn't give me codes for the iTunes version. Any other Universal title with UV copy has worked fine. That is my only complaint about this bundle. Overall the Blu Ray quality is great and very enjoyable. It makes the first one look like it was made a year ago rather than 15. Great collection for movie buffs and children as well.

The 4 DVD Shrek Collection has got to be one of the greatest bundling of family DVDs in history! The entire franchise follows the themes of: 1) a good story line with important lessons for young adults, 2) great animation and character development, and 3) great music and humor. Not only is this entertaining for children but the underlying sarcasm and adult puns keep adults entertained as well, not to mention the great music from the 70's and 80's. This is a must have collection that will deliver hours of quality family entertainment.

My girlfriend asked for this series for Christmas and I was very happy to find it on sale during Black Friday weekend. Comes with all 4 movies and she's already burned through all 4 since Christmas... it was a Shrek-a-thon for the ages and now I'm hoping we don't have to watch them again until next Christmas... :) Blu-ray still looks awesome though and the sleeve makes it a little more official looking. Definitely recommended for the Shrek-lover in your life.

It is hard to beat a classic set of comical things. And, they are rendered in Blu-ray with the same high definition that you saw in theaters as they were released. Add this to the collection if you like this particular series. There are tons of extra add-ons and outtakes in this collection provided. I am so glad that I got this. Best Buy's s price on it at the time was the lowest. There's enough content between all of these sequels and the original to entertain both children and adults alike.

Only worth it if you like this franchise. They're coming out with another one, so you might want to wait unless you can get this product on sale. Check out my gaming channel launching next weekend (5/6/17). I will discuss Mass Effects future and more on YouTube next weekend. My gaming channel will be called retrobasement. My name is Miguel Torez so email me if you have questions.

Finally. It took a while, but there is now a 4 pack of the Shrek franchise. We took our 4 single Shrek DVDs and donated them to an organization that caters to children. I'm sure they appreciate being able to show these movies to the kids while we appreciate getting some space back in our DVD case. This 4 pack was also substantially cheaper than buying all the singles.

I love this Shrek collection. Very high quality stuff. The disks and the packaging are not made with any cheap material. I already saw them all and no problems to report. The movies themselves are hilarious and fun to watch with the whole family. You also get all 4 digital versions and that is so super cool by itself. I highly recommend this set.
