Fun, but not for long
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Being a huge fan of the Karaoke Revolutions series, I thought that the SingStar series would be at least just as fun. I would have to say though, that I prefer the former. Although SingStar does have some great features, like the very good quality mics (I purchased the extended service plan for only 4.99 because every mic I've ever had for the PS2 has broken) and you can play back the song that you sang to hear how funny (or terrible) you sounded. The "judging" on your vocals is also much more difficult in this game than any karaoke game I've ever played. It's really hard to get a near perfect score even on the "easy" setting. The track list on this game is good, but only suits a particular audience.. which would be all my male roomates. I believe there is only one song with a female vocalist on this game- "Gold Lion" by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but I could be wrong. Usually me and my roomates will sit around and play Karaoke Revolutions for a while, but no one stayed interested in SingStar for very long. I think we sang like 3 songs and called it quits. It's fun, but Karaoke Revolutions is better.
