OK bag - lacks a few features I'd like

My position requires a fair amount of travel, so I was looking for something to replace my backpack (something more "professional/business" looking.) Main requirement is that it had a "come along" strap so I could hang it over my luggage handle. While this bag does have that, it lacks a few things I should have noted. My backpack had a small, zippered compartment inside the secondary storage space for small things (flash drives, etc. . ) that you don't want flopping around in one of the main compartments. I never realized how useful that was till I didn't have one. The Studio bag does have small compartments inside the storage area that's closed with a Velcro flap, but being the small storage area is not zippered/closed in any way, there is nothing to keep what's in there - in there. On top of that, the compartment that is covered with the Velcro flap has about a 2" gap at the top (hard to describe, but easily seen in person.) These things combined means that there is a chance small items can fall out even with the flap closed. Maybe not a huge chance, but I don't want to bet on that given how many times my bags are moved about under my seat in an airplane, in a taxi trunk, etc. . . Other than that, seems durable enough - though I've only used it for a few months at this point. Overall, I cannot downgrade it for something I missed. I consider it a lesson learned.

Overall, I like it. It's roomy and lets me carry: a Dell Inspiron 15 gaming machine, a Cooler Master fan pad, a mouse, the power supply, an external DVD drive, an external hard drive, as well as folders and external media like thumb drives, DVDs or CDS if needed. It's reasonably sturdy but does not have a stiff bottom that would allow it to stand up on its own. However, I wish the padding was thicker on this thing, and I wish the two handles had a way to connect them together. The padding that IS there isn't firm/shock-absorbing enough in my estimation. This is a good case to use if you are keeping it with you - I would NEVER allow this to be checked luggage and I'm not so sure I'd trust it even as a carry-on to be jammed in those above-seat storage areas. If I'm just putting it in my car and carrying it to places personally, it's decent enough for that.

I bought this portfolio to replace my 15 year old Swiss Gear Backpack. I wanted something smaller that took up less space when I travel but still allowed room for my gear. This bag fits that bill quite well. I have plenty of room for all of my tech (14" laptop and charger, external wireless mouse, two Passport external hard drives, iPad charger, misc. usb cables and adapters) as well as space for my tablet, a 9" spiral notebook, pens and highlighters, etc. It is also comfortable to carry on my shoulder while hustling through an airport or slid onto my suitcase handle using the slot on the back of the bag. The only downside is that the front pocket does not expand much, so the flap sticks out a bit if I put things in the front pocket like my glasses case or laptop charging brick. Best to keep the bulkier items inside one of the zippered compartments. This portfolio is an excellent upgrade from a backpack and well worth the money.

one of only two messenger style cases for 17" laptops in store. sales clerk said people don.t want 17" laptops, and they're being phased out. the case seems decent. good amount of padding for top and bottom of laptop. has minimal padding for edges, so don't drop it on floor. has main zippered compartment for laptop with a divider to keep folders from scratching laptop. second zippered (middle) full size compartment with no pockets for accessories. third (front) compartment with velcro flap (and side zippers to expand compartment access) with multiple pockets for office supplies or other items. decent shoulder strap and handles. in addition, back of case has a wide piece of fabric sewed in place to place a luggage handle through. very convenient for traveling and airports.

I was really hesitant to give up my old case but when I got my new laptop it wouldn't fit in my old one. I originally got this case because it was the only one the fit and seemed fairly secure but I've really started to like this bag. I do photography so I always have a bunch of hard drives with me and this bag has space for a larger 17.3" laptop like mine or even two smaller ones in one compartment, I have seven external drives in another compartment, and then my mouse/mousepad/ power supply easily fit into the front pouch. The only thing that really still doesn't do it for my is the strap.. it's awkward to wear/carry and never seems to straighten out.. but not a deal breaker by any means.

With my previous job I had a laptop carrying case where the top handle broke so I needed to get a new bag. This is hands down the best laptop bag that I've ever owned. At the time, I had to carry two laptops for both of the projects that I was working on and this bag was able to hold both of them and all paperwork/files that I was working on (The laptops were 17" and 15") The front zip down part had enough room for my business cards, headphones, writing instruments, and other misc items. Now that I'm no longer working for them, I had to regretfully turn the bag in with the one of the laptops but I will be purchasing another one for my personal use because I loved this bag that much!

It is hard to find a laptop briefcase that accommodates a 17.3" laptop. Actually most laptops of that size aren't designed to be "portable." But I needed a case because there are times when I need to take it out of the office. This briefcase looks nice and is professional looking. It is lightweight, yet sturdy and that is important with a 17.3" laptop because it is heavy to begin with. The only thing I wish it had that my precious case had is a Velcro clasp which closes the slide in pocket. That adds just a little extra protection and insures against the laptop slipping out if the zipper is not closed. Other than that it is good.

The Solo laptop briefcase I purchased is the best briefcase I found on the market I found for my new 17.3 HP Touchscreen laptop I saw after looking at several from many different sources! It has multiple compartments making it the perfect carryall for my Laptop, IPad and all the accessories that go with them! I can carry everything in one briefcase and still have plenty of space for all my other items! I absolutely love the Solo briefcase and highly recommend it for anyone looking for an awesome laptop case/ briefcase!
