A lot of Maiden fans we're initially turned off by this album because the first track opens with synthesizers, making it seem like the band was following mid-80's music trends. And while this was slightly odd for the band, when you hear the opening track and then look at the cover art, you start to see where things are going. The tracks and the album have a feeling of running through time from the future to the past and back again. While it may lack the straight NWOBHM feel, this album should not be immediately written off until you give it a few spins.

This album was one that I had delayed acquiring for many years, due to the lack of air play of its songs (exception, Wasted Years) and a warning about the synth guitars used. The warning was well deserved, the sound is "off" compared to other Maiden efforts. Aside from Wasted Years, the other songs are similar to most of the last few Maiden albums - nice to listen to, but not that memorable.

What can you say about Iron Maiden. Yet another 80's album that completely kicks your butt. Never lets up and leaves you begging for more. This is a must have for any Maiden fan or hard rock fan for that matter.

This record gets better every time I listen to. High energy, great riffs, interesting and musical solos, plus a nice development of ideas. It's too bad that Stranger isn't played live very often; that might be my favorite off of this album.

Both this and Seventh Son Of A Son earned the band new fans, but disgusted old fans with their use of synthesizers, but in the 80's, what did you expect? It was going to happen one way or the other. Check it out.

This was the last Iron Maiden remastered cd that I needed and I am glad to finally get it. Their experimentation on Seventh Son of A Seventh Son began on this album. Definitely a must add to your collection.

Was glad to find this since Best Buy's CD section is dwindling. This album is one of the best ones from Iron Maiden and I highly recommend it to complete the collection of their definitive albums.

It's just the quintessential must have Iron Maiden album, in my opinion. Great album from start to finish, with the classic single Wasted Years.
