Next-Gen Game Changer
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 is everything you want in a gaming console and more. The load times are practically nonexistent, the graphics are jaw-dropping, and the DualSense controller really pulls you into the game with its haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. It feels like you’re actually part of the action. Plus, the design is sleek and futuristic, though it takes up some space. If you can get your hands on one, it’s a game-changer—literally.

The PS5 rocks.
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PS5 is great. I wish it was a bit smaller in size. I got one color-matching controller out of the box. It still performs really well. I had to buy a second controller (black - see image) from GameStop a few weeks later. GOW has been such a great game to play. But this review I guess is more about the console and I'd say the console is practically perfect, made even better by the GOW game. FYI: I needed to watch a YouTube video to figure out how to mount the round base.

PS5- Beautiful piece of technology
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an owner and user of every generation of Playstation, I rank this machine as 2nd in regards to overall aesthetic (PS3 fat still ranks #1). One thing to be aware of is that this thing is physically HUGE. In my entertainment center I can accommodate a horizontal PS4 and a controller charging nest on the same shelf. With the PS5, it occupies the entire shelf with the controller tucked in sideways. As always, there is a need to be awareness of airflow as these machines get self-destructively hot when they are used for extended stretches of time. The controller has a cool new design, but the feeling doesnt deviate too much from the PS4 controller, which is not a bad thing. I'd be curious to see how white the finish stays after extended use. Moving save data from PS4 to PS5 is pretty straightforward- it can be done either via the cloud or USB thumb drive. PS5 was able to recognize PS4 physical disks and in several cases gave the option to download the PS5 version of the game for free (I tried this with Yakuza: like a Dragon and Miles Morales). The digital version of God of War: Ragnarok was included as advertized (wish it was physical copy) and I was able to download the game with the included code, but have yet tried to play it. The big downside of this machine is that the games dont seem to be utilizing the new technology enough. In other words, I dont notice much gameplay difference from PS4. Miles Morales seemed to have played the same as the PS4 version. I was told that Crash Bandicoot has additional content on PS5, but played the same. Loading times have improved, but the improvement may not be universal. For instance, Tekken 7 still takes the unacceptable amount of time to start a battle. Also, PS5 still will not accept older generation media- which sucks since I have kept all my old PS1-PS3 disks and would love the ability to run them all on the same box. PS3 fat did this wonderfully and because of the lack of this feature, a Sony Playstation will never get 5 stars from me. I waited for 2yrs but finally got with the times and picked up a PS5. But this was only in anticipation of Spiderman 2 this fall. Maybe as developers stop having to support PS4, that will give them a chance to finally come up with something to really announce the start of a new generation- but in reality PS4 could have probably lived another five years. In summary, if you are Sony gamer you will inevitably upgrade to PS5 at some point. Just make sure you have space for it.

This console is amazing!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the PS5 to play in my free time and to get me to stop working on the weekends(Crazy sentence, I know...) Anyway, I am thoroughly impressed with the console and would 1000% recommend it. I've had a blast so far not only with the graphics but the controller... Let's take a few moments to talk about that. The adaptive triggers and vibrations are next-level immersive. I loved them so much that I platinumed ASTRO's PLAYROOM before I even downloaded another title. Went to Spiderman, then Rachet & Clank. While working on trophies in these games I played with my PC buddies on Warframe. I've had such an amazing time. As I download more games I can understand how people complain about the default storage, though if you're not playing a lot of live service games you should be fine. As long as you pay attention to the space left on your console. I've got 10 games installed with 150gb leftover. 3 of which are live service games.

Best console out there
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance and graphics are unlike anything I have ever played except for some of the top gaming PCs which cost significantly more than the PS5. Controller feels nice and it's good to be able to play Blu-ray media. Wish internal storage could be larger

Excellent bundle for a great console!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recall the joy as a child of getting an NES for Christmas, then a Sega Genesis later on. After that, my brother and I received a Nintendo 64. Each time, I am impressed almost exclusively by new graphics and that is it. I used to have a PS3, then a PS4 and now this PS5. As an avid PC gamer with a fully loaded desktop, I chose the PS5 instead of the Series X because of the quality of the exclusive titles as well as past experiences in that regard with prior systems. My PC definitely had better graphics than the PS4, but I find that statement questionable when it comes to this PS5. I knew the bundled game would be fantastic, but the graphical quality and cinematic qualities are incredible . The other game I've gone with is Horizon: Forbidden West and it is also incredible. You won't be disappointed by a God of War Ragnarok bundle, that's for sure. While it plays nice with my new LG OLED TV and makes for a great Bluray 4K player, what I like most about it just might be the controller. The haptic feedback as well as the feel of it in my hand is on a totally different level. I am also intending to invest in the PSVR 2 and I am sure to enjoy that as well. Its surprising how cool it seems to keep this system as well. I also preferred the M.2 slot provided by Sony instead of the port that you plug the card into on the Series X, allowing you to choose your own expansion card. This is a console that has a great game ecosystem, excellent graphical user interface and top notch accessories that I feel put it ahead of the competition. You won't be disappointed if you go the same route!

Amazing! But needs some work.
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There isn't a single bone in my body whatsoever that regrets the purchase of this console. I was perfectly happy with my ps4 and I did not need to upgrade at the time. However, I decided that I work hard enough. I deserve to have a little fun too so, thanks to some specials for Black Friday, I splurged on this unit for my husband and I and we've been addicted ever since. The graphics are insane and the games really come to life versus the previous console. The integrated 3D surround sound is fun to have in general, but when used with a headset- as recommended- it is a whole other gaming experience. I purchased this unit specifically because of the limited edition God of War themed console due to my die hard devotion and love of the series. Kratos is king in the PlayStation universe for me and I love playing those games from the very original first streamed across PlayStation plus to the latest game where every time once triumphant I proclaim that I am the god of war! Meanwhile, I will say that I'm a little disappointed in Sony just because of the fact that I think this console is hideous and ugly. As much as I love it's technology, it's just an eyesore and not my favorite thing at all. I have it practically hidden at the moment so that I don't have to look at it at every second. It gets pretty hot when in use no matter how you had it set up (or which group you fall into for the online debate of whether to set it horizontal or vertical) The last generation console was at least sleek in somewhat fashionable. This is big bulky and I hate the fact that it only comes in white. Even after purchasing we knew we would need an extra controller like we have purchased previously for other PlayStations. So I immediately purchase the midnight black controller for myself which I love and I'm happy with. Aside from the looks, I'm not very happy with the UI in that it's very hard to find a web browser available on the PS5. On PS4 It was easily integrated and easily found So that should you need to go online or surf online, do anything on any website you could easily do so. In this unit, you'll be hard pressed to find it. I have found the web browser once or twice in the 4 to 6 months. I've owned the console but if I were to be asked to specifically go in and go to the browser, don't ask me because I can't find it anymore. Also, while I understand the branding and the companies wanting to continue their monopoly on the purchase of their own products in a set line, I really hope that Sony would integrate the ability to have Bluetooth available to connect for outside audio sources. Unfortunately, once again that is not the case. There are a few ways that you can work around this should you want to game with your home, entertainment, sound system or stereo, but I'm not going to bother here with those little hacks They can easily be found online and truth be told, many of them don't even work. I think the least Sony could do is allow external speakers to be paired in the Bluetooth function because to experience the games fully you need to integrate not just the picture quality and headset sound - But for those who don't care for headsets - the sound of your environment. I will say, even though I'm not a huge fan of wearing headset during playing that I'm quite impressed with the ability of my new LG TONE FREE T90Q earbuds to easily connect the case to the system itself - or also via Bluetooth - and with these earbuds, it's a whole other level of gaming. They were the first on the market to successfully integrate spatial audio head tracking and Dolby Atmos and all of these wonderful features shine beautifully in combination with the PS5. Currently I am playing and semi-addicted to the PS5 game STRAY.
