Tamron 18-400
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a quick focusing, light all around daily lens! Im not a pro, but the pics I get are crisp and focused. Using a d3500, crop sensor equals to a 300mm lens. Very happy with it for the cost. I wanted the 18-400, but cant swing $650 now. For hiking, wildlife and close ups Im happy. Only con- if you use it, what dust on the barrel gets sufked inside.

Excellent lens for amateurs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price this lens turned out to be a great buy. I am not a professional, just a point and click type of person. It easily replaces the Nikon lenses on my Nikon 3200 while maintaining all the automated functions. I loved the fact I did not have to keep changing lenses. The pictures are just amazing. A great buy.

Decent all around lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a decent all around lens. The focal range is very convenient. When it's closer to the 18mm range it is compact enough not to be burdensome. Are there better lenses out there? Absolutely! Even their own such as they Tamron 70-300SP. For $200 though it's a very utilitarian piece of equipment anybody can enjoy.

Good walk around lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this to use while on vacation because it covers such a large range. It does a pretty good job and the VC is great for the longer shots. Not the best in low light. I included a few samples

Great Lens for the Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Purchased this lens for our vacation because I didn't want to pack a bunch of lens. I was a little weary of the lens because of the low price. I have to say the lens took great pictures and performed better than expected on my Nikon 5300. I love not having to switch lens. Its a simple lenses to get close ups.

Q: QuestionIs this compatible with a Nikon d5000?
Asked by Mike.
- A:Answer I own a Nikon d7000 and a Nikon d5600. This lens fits both. Tamron lenses made for Nikon products all use the same mounting bracket.

Q: QuestionHow does this lens compare to the Nikon lenses, in terms of optics and image quality; apart from the capabilities/limitations of the camera? The price is reasonable and the warranty is much longer. Is that misleading?
Asked by djgkg.
- A:Answer I have this lens as well as the first generation Nikon 18-200MM lens and can honestly say the Tamron is sharper and has less barrel distortion and vignetting wide open than the originally Nikon optic. I can't speak for the current version made by Nikon, but can't image it's Image quality is better than the Tamron and the Tamron is way more affordable as you noticed. Both the new Nikon lens and the Tamron offer long warranties, BUT to avail yourself of them you MUST register the lens with the respective manufacturer. Be prepared to send a copy of your bill of sale with the registration. With Tamron you can submit your registration on line as well as a scanned copy of your receipt rather than mailing it in. Be prepared before starting the process. I own the Tamron for both Nikon and Canon mount camera's and am very pleased with the build quality and image quality. It's a great investment.
